Seven Acres Camping Site

喜欢 Beautiful site, shady & close to Frome.

不喜欢 Road noise at night very disturbing. Toilet block very poor - in need of renovation. (One small wash basin only in whole men’s section! What happens when it’s busy??) The gate code system is very cumbersome & slow. The gate doesn’t open completely so you have to drive round it & the welcome email made finding the pitch number a real difficulty - why ‘unit’ fgs? Took ages to work out that was pitch! Stayed here 6/7 years ago & remember enjoying it - hopefully new owners will spend some money on it. 🤞
Also, ‘WiFi’ on booking form - told there was none as selling. Should have informed us on booking.

喜欢 Great spacious pitches, easy instructions for access, very helpful owner. Convenient location for a visit to Longleat and Stourhead.

喜欢 The one other couple who were also pitched there. There was only the two of us booked in.

不喜欢 I rang the campsite 3 times but only got a message to say ring pitchup.com.
We had trouble with the gate code, but one body to help.
The gents didn't have basins, had to wash their hands in basins outside.
Units on the booking form = pitch numbers, please change the wording.
Bonfire smoked our motorhome out.
Saw no staff or owner.
Only one light on the end of the toilet block at night for the whole site.
Would not have felt OK if by myself as nobody to help if needed.
Reflected badly on Pitchup.com if this is the standard.

喜欢 Cleanliness of the toilets, the shower block and washing up station. The setting was idyllic with the trees overhead and my little girl loved playing in the little play area. Easy to find and get into. Would recommend to other campers.

喜欢 Pretty field with plenty of room. Lots of wildlife with a deer in the field near the tent.

不喜欢 We had to use carts to transport our camping gear in trolleys to the camping field. It was very confusing checking in and finding the pitch.
The toilets and shower facilities were very poor. Cleaning was poor and the shower facilities were not fit for purpose, with a complete lack of privacy for changing. The light did not work despite this having been identified in previous reviews.
This has been noted in other reviews.
Entry to the site required a code that activated a comically slow gate that looks as though it would give up the ghost any minute.
Communal bins were smelly and overflowing.
Road and rail noise
Other campers were using fire pits despite the recent ban.

喜欢 Self entry, code shared by email, turn up, pop it in and you’re away. Really easy.
Lovely natural site, not like some hard standings where you feel like you’re at a caravan park, tonnes of tree coverage, stream, nature, plenty of room between pitches.
Toilet block simple but clean and suitable.

喜欢 Peaceful woodland setting.

不喜欢 Toilet and showers, Very tired.
Ladies only 2 loos and 3 showers. Two of the showers are just cubicles opening into the toilet block with nowhere to undress and hang clothes. No hand drying facilities, just a small shared hand towel. There was an additional family bathroom but no functioning light, struggled to see how to operate the electric shower in low light.
You can’t park your car next to your caravan/tent. Not sure the reasoning behind this since campers can come and go freely.
Guests staying on the site didn’t respect other guests privacy, walking across pitches …sometimes brushing under the caravan window. Would be nice to see a few notices to remind guests of others privacy. The site is currently up for sale, and as great potential for anyone with the cash !!
