If you've been keeping a beady eye out for buzzwords like peaceful, farm and the Jurassic Coast, now is a good time to hit pause. Frome View Camping is a quiet site on a dairy farm on the Isle of Purbeck, within 20 minutes’ drive of famed Jurassic Coast locations like Lulworth Cove, Old Harry Rocks, Dancing Ledge, Swanage beach, Kimmeridge Bay and – perhaps the area's most well-known spot – Durdle Door. Well-maintained, family-friendly and laidback, this site is in a handy spot just outside of Wareham, which has pubs, restaurants, shops and access to the walking path along the Frome, all within 20 minutes’ walk of the site. Wareham also has a sports centre with a swimming pool, and local music events are frequently held in the town on Wednesdays. This handy location means mornings can begin with a stroll into town for brunch at a café or to hire a boat to explore the river Frome, while evenings may revolve around a barbecue dinner or some time at the communal firepit. Picnic tables are provided for your meals, and the site also has various essential facilities including toilets, showers and a chemical disposal point. Frome View is easy to get to by car, or you can take a train to Wareham station followed by a 30-minute walk to the farm. For a short evening stroll, there’s a handy pub about five minutes’ walk away.

喜欢 Flat field with your own picnic benches and fire pit areas. Great facilities in terms of toilets and showers. Only two of each and unisex but wasn’t too busy so not an issue. Walkable to Wareham across the Causeway and good pub only a 10 min walk. A little on the pricey side compared to other campsites without an electric hook up.

喜欢 Instructions for locating the site and gaining entry through the locked gate were perfect. A short while after we set up the owner visited each pitch in turn giving everyone a warm welcome and some local knowledge. We enjoyed our stay and found the location an ideal base for exploring the Isle of Purbeck. Thanks to Phil for hosting a clean, friendly site.

喜欢 Easily accessible, well maintained site. Owner Philip came round and checked in on everyone and made sure everything was okay.
Toilets well presented and consistently clean, and showers available if desired.

喜欢 Clean bathrooms and showers, good price and lots of space.
It was lovely surrounded by sheep, they were calm and pleasant and not very noisy. Kids loved them.

不喜欢 Although nice to be in Wareham town it was too close to the town. Very noisy at night! We could hear the local pub or venue loud music and people at early hours 1 or 2am. Could also hear the road at night very noisy drivers.

喜欢 Lush wee campsite, walking distance from Wareham. Quiet, flat with the best camp toilets and showers I’ve seen in a while. Booking and check in was simple and Phil came to welcome guests. The sunsets were incredible and we got amazing moon rises too! 10/10 will return.

喜欢 Great location, lovely farmer (Philip) clean and charming toilets/showers. My kids enjoyed feeding the sheep.

不喜欢 As it’s quite new it didn’t have a phone / power charging station

喜欢 Beautiful showers and toilets - the best I’ve ever seen on a campsite. They even had hand towel, solar fairy lights and hand wash and hand cream! Loved the rustic and stripped back feel and that it was eco friendly. Was peaceful and spacious. Very close to gorgeous beaches, pubs and wareham town with shops, train station etc.

喜欢 Peaceful campsite. Nice, clean facilities. Plenty of space. Easy access into Wareham for essentials and dining.

不喜欢 Shower was temperamental, it may have just been me! I couldn’t balance the hot and cold , freezing or hot. To be honest I was visiting during a heatwave the morning cold shower wasn’t so bad.

Frome View Camping is in a fabulous spot for getting out to a wide variety of Dorset’s best attractions. From here it’s easy to get to historic Corfe Castle (five minutes’ drive), the gorgeous Blue Pool (five minutes), the comical apes of Monkey World (10 minutes), the madcap floating assault course at Dorset Adventure Park (10 minutes) and the military machines of The Tank Museum (15 minutes). You can also drive to RSPB Arne in about 10 minutes, or bike there along the Purbeck Way. If farm animals are more your thing, seek out one of the local farm parks – Farmer Palmer's Farm Park and Salt Pig the Farm – Putlake are both about 15 minutes’ drive away and hugely popular with kids. Both have play areas and activities as well as animals to meet. Elsewhere nearby you may like to take a ride on the Swanage Railway (20 minutes) or head to Poole Harbour (35 minutes) for boat trips to Brownsea Island.
