A Devon countryside location with convenient road access? Take a look at Stover Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite, in a handy spot just a short way from the A382 and the A38 (Devon Expressway) and 10 minutes' drive from Newton Abbot. You may be only a short way off the main road here but you’ll also be in a peaceful location right next to Stover Country Park and its landscapes of woodland and lakes. That means access to gentle strolls (with your dog, if you’ve brought one) whenever you want them, or even a guided tour with staff who know all about the native flora and fauna. The grounds are open and airy at this site, and the pitches are well kept and spacious (feel free to set up an awning or gazebo if you wish). Set up specifically for touring vehicles, the site has a chemical disposal point and motorhome service area, but please note there are no guest toilets or showers. This site is managed by the Caravan and Motorhome Club, and open to both members (who benefit from special rates) and non-members. The price displayed is for members; non-members will need to pay the £15/night extra or pay £69 for membership. Bringing discounts at more than 140 UK sites, membership is well worth considering if you're likely to spend more than four days at a Club site over the year; it brings extra perks too, like access to tailored caravan/motorhome insurance, discounts on days out and savings on top brands. Heading out and about, you can get to Dartmoor National Park with a few minutes’ drive, or down to the coast around Torquay in about half an hour. Closer to home, Trago Mills (five minutes’ drive) is a handy local source of shops and family fun.

喜欢 Pleasant site ,nice dog walk although you could let your dogs off on the walk , if you have a naughty dog like ours he needs a enclosed walk/park. The road closures were a nightmare which did impact on our stay. Lovely forest park can recommend .

不喜欢 It was a shame about the road closures .

Leave M5 at junction 31 and continue onto the A38 (signposted Plymouth). In about 11 miles leave the A38 via slip road onto A382 (signposted Newton Abbot). In 360 metres pass the entrance to Country Park on your left. The Site entrance is on the left immediately past the roundabout. Do not take any other turning from the A38 signposted to Newton Abbot until the A382 junction.

After you’ve had a stroll around the country park, set your sights on the trails of Dartmoor National Park. Some popular local spots include the watery sights of Canonteign Falls (10 minutes’ drive) and Becky Falls Ancient Woodland Park (15 minutes) or the intriguing Haytor Rocks (15 minutes). If you’ve got the family with you, plan outings to The Devon Bird of Prey Centre and Pennywell Farm (both 15 minutes) or Paignton Zoo Environmental Park (25 minutes). A day on the beach in Torquay (half an hour) is likely to be popular with all ages too, as is a wander around Babbacombe Model Village & Gardens (25 minutes). Closer to home, Trago Mills (five minutes) is a handy thing to have just up the road – there’s a huge shopping centre here, plus a garden centre (which is home to 12 show gardens) and the Bickington Steam Railway.
