喜欢 I loved the seclusion - the hosts were amazing! Loved the sauna and Tea tree scrub and swim in the river! I felt very well looked after. Chad even made me a fire!

喜欢 * Very friendly and informative owner (Charles) who fired the sauna up specially for us - in fact we were the only guests on the site that day / night.
* Beautiful location with bracing (!) river swimming.

喜欢 Amazing beautiful and remote location, incredible swimming right by our tent. So peaceful waking up to the birdsong and rustling of animals on the river bank with no human interruption. Owner was really helpful and took our pizza to bake at his house and delivered it back down to us. Then we left alone to get on with it without any interference. My daughter loves running wild beneath the giant oak trees, swinging beneath it and jumping on the trampoline beneath the open sky and jumping in and out of the river all evening - dog also thought it was the best holiday of her life!!!

不喜欢 Not a dislike for us but know before you go this is proper wild camping - limited loos without a good walk if not in the main field and although there are communal bonfires and pizza oven, it might not be up and running on quiet weekdays so be prepared to cook on your own equipment. If you are looking for somewhere super safe, tidy and supervised this is not your jam....
Was disappointed hot tub was not working which was a shame as not a fan of saunas and was looking forward to a wild swim and a bubble to help my achy back.
So I guess check first if important to you!

喜欢 Nothing

不喜欢 It is nothing like shown online. It's a field that is unkempt with a small stream running through. Possibly deeper when the weather hasn't been so dry. The toilet facilities are a septic tank with a wood shack over the top and the smell in unbearable.
Water (drinking) is a drive away. Really only a 2 minute drive but definitely a drive. If you're after a field with filthy toilet facilities (2 toilets only) in the middle of nowhere that's not been kept here's a good place to stay. Suffice to say, we didn't stay.

喜欢 What an incredible site, really felt remote and off grid. The swimming spot was a delight and the hot tub and sauna were an excellent addition. We don’t have kids but it was a joy to see kids being kids, running around, swimming, playing. It was just lovely to see. Site owners were friendly and regularly checked in that we had everything we needed. Had an amazing sleep to the sounds of the river, extremely relaxing stay!

不喜欢 The access route is quite a tight road, it’s also quite long, thankfully we didn’t meet anything coming the other way but something to think about if you’re in a big vehicle. I’m also not sure there was waste or water disposal, so be prepared to take everything away with you

喜欢 Absolutely beautiful - the pictures don't do it justice. We didn't realise until the drive up just how isolated this place is; you truly feel as though you've entered a different world.

We were given a shady and secluded spot - which was cool even at the peak of the heatwave - right next to a bbq and picnic table. The grounds are huge, so even on a peak season Saturday, we had total peace and privacy; we might as well have been the only ones there apart from when we went to the swimming/sauna area.

The main reason we booked was the wild swimming and sauna, and they did not disappoint - the river makes for a wonderful, cool, dip, and the sauna is great once it gets going, with plenty of space.

We also had some lovely dog walks around the grounds, and appreciated how friendly Chaz and Evie were. I can't remember the last time I felt so at relaxed or connected to nature! Thank you!

不喜欢 No "dislikes" - just two pieces of advice to anyone considering booking:

(1) Take care of any important calls/messages before you start the drive up, as signal is quite poor (my husband had some bars but I had none). That said, there is plenty to do without your phone/internet and it's an amazing digital detox.

(2) The owners' lovely labradors are left to roam the grounds - they are very friendly, but if you have an anxious or tricky dog, just be prepared in case they come padding over.
