Whether you’re looking for walks, beach days or just some quiet time amid gorgeous scenery, a stay at Bear and Cedar Camping should suit you rather well. This friendly family-run East Sussex site is just on the eastern edge of the South Downs National Park, about 10 minutes’ drive from Lewes: an excellent location for countryside and coast adventures. Groups, families, couples and solo travellers are all welcome here, as are dogs (who can use a dog-walking field just across the road). There’s a fabulous five acres to play with here, but guest numbers are always kept manageable to make sure there’s plenty of space for everyone to relax and for kids to play games safely. Simple facilities on site include modern and regularly cleaned bathrooms (with showers and toilets) along with a campfire area for sociable evenings stoking the flames as the sun sets. Lewes is a handy place to find supplies for such events, but you won’t have to go that far if you just fancy a pint, some chips or a coffee – Ringmer is about a mile away, with takeaways, cafés and pubs, and there’s another pub even closer at five minutes’ walk. All of this means time spent on site is pretty lovely – but the location also means you should certainly be getting out and about as much as you can. There are plenty of walking and cycling trails around here, plus farm and adventure attractions for the kids and a tempting winery for the grownups.

喜欢 Clean, modern facilities. Bins frequently emptied and never overflowing. Campsite was quiet and full of lovely people. Bear was very helpful and accommodating.

喜欢 This is a great campsite at a very fair price, the toilets and showers have just been built and are very clean they are definitely the best I have seen on any campsite I have stayed on, all the ground is flat so no sliding down to the end of your tent in the night and the owner bear is a very friendly chatty bloke who makes you feel very welcome, I am definitely gonna come and stay here again deserves all 10 stars

喜欢 Very kind and welcoming owners, amazing brand new facilities obviously made by a very skilled carpenter with multiple clean toilets and hot water shower! This is a hidden gem in East Sussex and I will be coming back!

喜欢 Quiet site, very friendly welcome. Toilets were immaculate. No strict pitch allocation.

不喜欢 Unfortunately there was only 1 shower for the site. I know this will change as they are a new site and building more as we speak.

喜欢 Bear & Cedar is a little gem of a campsite. Close to the amenities of Ringmer with a host of shops as well as a nearby pub & cafe, but rural enough to hear nine different birds thanks to the Merlin app. We did a lovely one hour round dog walk into Ringmer one way and back via a footpath to the other end of the lane. Visit before it becomes more well known and gets busier!

喜欢 Campsite is very well located for Glyndebourne. It was a perfect place to stay to enable us to enjoy the Glyndebourne music festival and then stay locally. The facilities are excellent with brand new toilets and showers that were just as comfortable as being at home. The field itself is large with lovely views of the countryside. Bear, the owner, was very friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend this campsite.
