What customers say
Great value new campsite, with spotlessly clean modern loos and friendly owner. Relaxed vibes, big field, handy for Glyndebourne. Some found it noisy (dogs/road), and no washing-up area (though that's being sorted). Field got a bit cracked from dry weather.

pleasant place. Great for getting a train from Lewes to Brighton!
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Easy to find, lovely toilets and showers which were very clean. Nice to be able to pitch where you want. We had to change our booking and when I called, they were really helpful.
Disliked Missed not having a washing up area.

Propreté de la douche.…
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site

From the manager: We are sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay with us, we are a pop-up campsite- so perhaps you didn’t read that when booking with us.
There is no mobile home at the entrance, so unsure where you saw this! The fencing has been a necessary measure for the safety of our campers - it prevents campers speeding onto the field and is a temporary measure until we have permission to build a more aesthetically pleasing entrance. We apologise that you didn’t like it, but we feel once you have set up your camp then it doesn’t affect your stay.
Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about traffic or dog walkers nearby, but we are pleased that everything else within our control you found to be excellent. We pride ourselves on our facilities and will be building a washing up area for next year.
Thank you for the feedback!
Still building the site but rate this
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Great flat pitches, lovely owner and immaculate toilet and shower block. All the descriptions really accurate ie. Work still underway to build dishwashing area etc....really liked it just can't give it more because it's not fully done yet....also to say some people have commented on the dogs, honestly I've stayed much noisier sites and bear was so helpful, offered ear plugs etc. very good for what I needed

Great place to stay for Glyndebourne and Lewes.
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked This is such an easy site. The owners are very welcoming and accommodating, you choose where you want to be. The toilet and showers are immaculate and the owners certainly work hard to keep them that way and keep the field neat. Showered were hot . We were there for the opera at Glyndebourne… ten minutes drive, the perfect place to stay !

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Lovely open field giving plenty of space. Quite bumpy in places in the centre of the field, but flat around the edges of the field where you can also get shaded by the trees. Very clean toilets and showers. Perfect location for trip to Glyndebourne. Decent pub 5 minutes walk away.

Nice campsite with limited facilities.
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Quiet, large field with some shade at the edges. Brand new showers and toilets. Good location in the South Downs area.
Disliked Limited showers (only 2) so queueing happened at busy times. No electricity, no Wifi.

From the manager: Thank you for your review Rob! I’m sorry there was a queue at peak times but hoping you managed to use our fabulous facilities anyway.
Lovely trip
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked It was a good site, toilets and showers were not only beautiful, but beautifully clean too!
Disliked Not having a fire was a disappointment, although l did campnin the heatwave and it was wise precaution!
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thanks Sarah, we apologise we couldn’t permit fires during your stay - given the extreme weather we have been having we felt it would be incredibly unsafe and reckless to allow open fires on our very very dry grass. Given where we are situated (right next to the glorious South Downs) we felt it is our responsibility to be safe. With no rain for the last five weeks it certainly felt like the most responsible decision, but I apologise it affected your enjoyment - hopefully we get some rain soon and the (safe) crackle of a campfire can return to our much loved site!
Good price, in a nice compact, green space, without the fuss.
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Showers, toilets, great host, water on site, (washing up area, chem toilet disposable, not there yet but on the way) Bear is a great host, who cares, and wants to make his site work.
