After a day trying your luck on Blackpool pier’s amusements or tackling the waves at the town’s wake park, Grange Farm Caravan will be a splendid retreat from the lively scenes. This is an excellent place to get your Blackpool excitement and your countryside fix all at once, as the seaside town is just 25 minutes’ drive away. The farm site is in the Wyre area, under six miles from Poulton-le-Fylde. Dogs are welcome, as are families, and there are firepits for hire for those who’d like to see off the day with a campfire. There’s a country pub 10 minutes’ walk away in Stalmine, so don’t worry if you get a craving for a cider, a proper coffee or a homecooked meal. The site also has its own eggs for sale, so mornings can start sunny side up with a fried egg breakfast over the fire (over bread from the shop in the village, which is also 10 minutes’ walk away, perhaps?). If you don’t quite fancy driving down to Blackpool or Lancaster (which is also nearby) there’s a handy bus stop a short walk away from the farm with links to both destinations. And for morning walks? Well, there’s plenty of countryside around or the Wyre Estuary Country Park is a splendid waterside setting only 20 minutes’ drive away.

喜欢: We only stayed the one night on the way to Lake District but a lovely place. Toilets were very clean.
Directions to came site sent early in the day so we could just pull up and relax.

喜欢: Excellent communication, easy to find and clear instructions as to which pitch was mine. Toilets were clean and hot running water in sinks. Gate was open late which was helpful when returning from a meal out. Good location, only 9 minutes drive out of Poulton-Le-Fylde.

不喜欢: Somewhat expensive per night for a single person stay on a campsite that doesn’t have a shower block.

喜欢: Great sized corner pitch. Loads of room for camper, awning and seating area. Well maintained site. Love the idea of the honesty box in the shop. Got some farm fresh eggs which were delicious.

不喜欢: Nothing about the site just people not being respectful of someone else's property. Kids running round dropping rubbish and leaving taps running. There's plenty of signs up saying the farm is on a water meter. Also people using fire pits and just leaving them in the field rather than returning them.

喜欢: Pitch size and place

不喜欢: Muck spreading started in the adjacent field when I arrived, the smell was disgustingly overwhelming. Although tired I had to go out to avoid it. The stench was so bad overnight I woke up at 2am retching.

来自经理: Sorry to hear about this, I feel it’s a bit harsh on our site giving this review on something that is happening on adjacent field not owned by us. However you are camping in the country but we do apologise on behalf of all farmers spreading manure to fertilise their grass to provide food for their animals.

喜欢: Farm was easy to find and plenty of room on the pitch to set up a large tent and still park your car.

Had a lovely small shop where you could buy some snacks drink and eggs or feed for the animals in near by fields.

Clean toilets provided and a wash station to clean your pots and pans was a nice bonus.

We will 100% be staying here again.

不喜欢: Only thing I would say is the bitch boundary could be marked out so you could see where yours ends and another begins

喜欢: Quite and rustic. Farm animals nearby to feed. Lush grass pitches divided into 3 separate areas. Simple but functional amenities. Easy booking in and pitching. Helpful communicative staff.

不喜欢: Some hardstanding grass areas are 50% soil. Not ideal to set your table and chairs up on. We swapped to a better pitch on request to owner.
Can imagine it being troublesome in wet weather.

Kids are likely to love this one – Farmer Parrs Animal World (20 minutes’ drive) runs pony, train and tractor rides, as well as being home to jumping pillows and an animal farm with rare breeds. Blackpool Zoo (25 minutes) is another attraction for those wanting to meet some new creatures. The zoo has giraffes, orangutans and elephants among its residents. What might you get stuck into in Blackpool? Well, Blackpool Pleasure Beach (half an hour) has steep rollercoasters and a variety of less fearsome rides for those not quite up to the big rides. There’s plenty of action along the seafront in the form of amusement arcades and watersports. For a truly watersports-dedicated setting, Blackpool Wake Park (20 minutes) runs activities like paddleboarding, kayaking and wakeboarding. To the east, those seeking a little time in the moors and valleys can head into the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (half an hour). To the south, Lytham Hall (half an hour) has 78 acres of parkland, all part of an 18th-century mansion where there are hall tours.
