Experience the stunning landscape of the Lake District – but without the tourist madness often associated with the area – by staying at Black Beck Holiday Park, a peaceful site on the fringes of the national park. You’re only a 10-minute drive along the A590 from the southernmost tip of Lake Windermere here, which puts waterfront hikes and water-based activities within easy-peasy reach. Motorhome pitches (with water and drainage hook-up points) occupy an area of mature woodland with exquisite views of distant mountains. Among the on-site facilities is a secure children’s playground (with swings and see-saws), while the adults’ play area includes a sauna and a hot tub (with which you might well fall in love after a few days of scrambling up fells…), plus a shop selling beer and other local specialities. If you prefer your beer in a more social setting, a pub in the village of Bouth (five minutes’ drive or a 20-minute walk) serves ales and traditional fare in a cosy setting with a woodburning stove and assorted taxidermy. There are more dining options along the A590, on the banks of the River Leven (about five minutes) and in the lively market town of Ulverston (15 minutes). Back at the site, take your dog (for which there is a small additional daily fee) for a walk along the site’s wooded paths down to the pond, where the kids can feed the ducks. In addition to a toilet/shower block with facilities for disabled guests, the site has a launderette (with an iron and a board) and a drying room.

喜欢 A lovely well set out site with lots if room on each pitch. The individual shower and toilet rooms were absolutely beautiful! The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful, showing an interest in where we’d been and were going next.

不喜欢 Couldn’t fault anything.

喜欢 The poshest campsite we’ve ever stayed at! Bathroom was better than ours at home! The whole site was clean and tidy, staff were very friendly and the setting was peaceful- better than expected for a large site.

不喜欢 A bin in the dishwashing area would be helpful. Also, we went for a route marked walk direct from the site - but it took us half an hour to find the exit into the woods! Map markers or a sign indicating where the woods can be accessed would have been very helpful.

喜欢 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic stay at Black Beck! 🏕️

We stayed at Black Beck for one night camping in our VW, and honestly, we absolutely loved it! ❤️

The facilities were brilliant — really clean, modern toilets and bathrooms, and there’s so much on site to keep everyone entertained. My 8-year-old absolutely loved the children’s play area and duck pond, and it was lovely having those little extras that make camping with kids so much easier.

For the adults, there’s a sauna, steam room and gym, as well as a shop on site, so you really do have everything you need.

The staff were amazing too. They were so friendly and welcoming, and they even brought my little one some bird feed for the ducks, Harley said thank you. 🦆❤️ He absolutely loved it! It’s those little thoughtful touches that really make a difference and are so appreciated especially I came on my own.

The location is fantastic for exploring the Lake District, and we managed to pack so much into our two days, including the steam train and aquarium, as well as loads of other activities.

Although we only stayed for one night, we had such a brilliant little getaway and made the most of every minute. My son absolutely loved it!

We’ll definitely be back — next time with the whole family! ❤️🏕️

不喜欢 No signal for the TV with my portable ariel, but i will bring a main lead next time now I know you had a supplied area to plug one in.

National Trust - Sizergh (25 minutes) is a medieval property that’s been home to the same family for 800 years.
