Surrounded by Slaley Forest in Northumberland, the touring pitches at Springhouse Boutique Holiday Park are just as peaceful as they are scenic. And that’s not all that there is to like about this dog-friendly site, as there’s always something to do locally, whether your plans involve walking, cycling, wildlife spotting, heritage outings or admiring the dark skies. That excellent list of activities is down to the location – the site is within 15 minutes’ drive of Corbridge, Hexham and Derwent Reservoir. There's good access to lots of other top-notch Northumberland spots from this park too. For example, hikers need only take a 10-minute drive to get to the edge of the North Pennines or a 15-minute drive to hit the Hadrian's Wall Path. Your local town here is Corbridge, a place with a traditional marketplace, a bakery and an old-fashioned grocer. The Roman town also has an open-air museum and rare Roman armour. You might want to grab a pub lunch while you're out, as historical pubs also line the streets. Hexham is another fine spot nearby – on the banks of the river Tyne, this market town has a large abbey, museum, park and lots of different eateries. Back at the park, an on-site restaurant and bar (open on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes throughout the season, plus on Monday and Thursday evenings during the school holidays) take care of those times when you want a relaxed meal, a refreshing pint or a hot brew, and there's a spacious play area to keep the kids busy. Other facilities include showers, toilets and a launderette.

喜欢 Lovely peaceful site, very clean and friendly staff, the gym is small but plenty of equipment. Nice bar and outside seating area and there's a lovely walk in the woods around the site. Showers are great with plenty of room in them and without the dreaded push button. Childrens play park was very good and the children were safe to play.

不喜欢 Nothing really. Showers could do with some hooks for towels near them. The gate to the football pitch needs checking as it has to be swung up to open, the wind caught it and came down on his back and grazed his back quite a bit.
The roads up to the site are very narrow if your towing a caravan just take it slow and steady

喜欢 Lovely quite site that’s clean and well maintained. Has a lovely play area for children aswell as an enclosed football pitch. Bar/restaurant on site with added gym and little shop. Around the site are lovely woodland walks. Great for dog owners too.

喜欢 Walk of site and your surrounded by trees and wildlife, plenty of deer if you’re out early enough, it’s a runners and walkers delight, all the paths are well maintained and assessable with a suitable pushchairs. Great location, far enough out the way with Hexham town a short car journey away. Lovely friendly site, it felt safe for kids to play without constant eyesight supervision (I have older children) with a nice little park for the younger kids. Staff are friendly and the whole site is clean and tidy with lots of rabbits playing and running around.
We have no complains with the accommodation, it’s was clean, fresh, beds were comfy and plenty of utensils etc in the kitchen.

喜欢 Small and friendly site, great park and football pitch for children. Clean toilets and showers. We booked a pitch for our camper van and would definitely stay again.

不喜欢 Was a lot of wasps couldn’t relax and were landing on our baby
We were put right beside the tank where u empty your toilet
Says that food is served till late but they closed the kitchen early so missed food

Nice pitch, lovely and quiet. Good shower/toilet facilities.

不喜欢 Our pitch was next to what I assume was a septic tank which didn’t smell the best. I can imagine when it is warm this would be quite bad.

Must be within reach of a golf course at all times? Then it’ll be handy to know that Springhouse Boutique Holiday Park is a 10-minute drive from the nearest one. If you prefer activities that’ll push your limits, try out the zipwires at Go Ape Matfen (25 minutes) or the sailing, windsurfing and open-water swimming organised by the sailing club at Derwent Reservoir (15 minutes). One big attraction around these parts is Beamish, the Living Museum of the North (40 minutes). Spread out across the countryside, its open-air exhibits re-tell the lives of local British people from the 1820s through to the 1950s. Of course, you don’t want to forget about Northumberland National Park (40 minutes) either, especially if you like hiking. The national park trails weave past hillforts, quarries, Hadrian’s Wall, hills and crags. Kielder Water (an hour) is one of the national park’s many spectacular spots, with trails heading into the forest or around the 26-mile shore. Stop by the osprey viewing point to try your luck, before sipping on a hot brew in the café.
