Can’t decide between a countryside location or being close to the coast? Bag yourselves a good bit of both with a stay at Burnt House Caravan Park. This peaceful family-run park is in the North York Moors National Park, so it’s surrounded by gorgeous rural scenery and has easy access to moorland walks, relaxed bike rides and other activities including fishing at Scaling Reservoir (five minutes' drive away). You may like to ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a good taste of the landscapes or perhaps challenge yourself to a steep clamber up Roseberry Topping. Or how about that coast trip? The North Yorkshire coast is only about five miles from the site, and being close to the A171 means you’ll be able to zip along to the popular town of Whitby in about 15 minutes by car. Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hood’s Bay are all within easy reach too. The touring pitches here are for adults only, but dogs are allowed as long as they’re kept on leads at all times. Barbecues are permitted, and you can retreat to the games room for some indoor time if the weather’s not looking so good. Other facilities on site include a launderette, a wifi service, a chemical disposal point and bathrooms with showers and toilets.

喜欢 Very quiet and excellent location easy check in. People on site incredibly helpful with information about local area and neighbour helped out with tyre that needed more air.

不喜欢 Facilities were like having a shower at my nan’s house! The old mixer showers had clearly been there many years but clean and functional. A fair walk to the shower block from the pitch. Small pitch very close to neighbours

喜欢 Sauberer kleiner Platz neben Ferienhäusern. Ältere, aber sehr saubere Sanitäreinrichtungen.
Absolut ruhig in der Natur gelegen.

不喜欢 Etwas zu weit von Whitby, als dass man mit dem Rad hatte fahren können. Zudem zu viel Verkehr für das Fahrrad.

喜欢 Well kept gardens. Gent who welcomed us was very helpful about buses and the local area. Clean shower block. Leisure room, pool and table tennis

不喜欢 Dogs barking constantly when people walk by. We were on pitch 7. Shower block needs update. Water in the toilets takes time to refill.

不喜欢 Toilet block, bins, chemical waste all situated in static areas. NO DISABLED ACCESS OR AMENITIES. Couldn’t shower and struggled with toilet facilities. When you can get WiFi it’s only 1meg. Local Pub and Shop a good 3 mile walk and pub doesn’t serve food. Children running around and what sounded like a dog fight. Dogs are not allowed to be walked on site you have to leave. No staff on site even when you arrive. Pitches number pinned to office door. Loo roll not topped up

不喜欢 no dishwash food prep area unbelievable for a so called touring site, isolated, old concrete static base, no meet and greet (never saw anyone to do with the site) toilet area 50s quality no hot water in sinks, I could pee quicker than the taps ran, no toilet paper for two days, dogs in one of the statics barked at everyone and everything.

You’ll be well positioned for walks in the North York Moors National Park here – there are plenty to choose from, but if you need a bit of help a good place to start is Danby Lodge National Park Centre (15 minutes’ drive). The distinctive hill of Roseberry Topping (25 minutes) is a popular place to walk, as is the rocky area around The Wainstones (45 minutes). Elsewhere nearby you can go coarse fishing at Scaling Reservoir (five minutes' drive), ride the North Yorkshire Moors Railway from Grosmont station (10 minutes) or dip into the area's history at Rievaulx Abbey (50 minutes). The Museum of Victorian Science (10 minutes) is a good option on a damp day. The coast isn’t far off either, so you may like to set off for the beaches at Runswick Bay (10 minutes), Staithes (15 minutes) or Robin Hood’s Bay (25 minutes). Whitby (15 minutes) is another great option, for its abbey, Captain Cook Memorial Museum and 199 Steps as well as the beach.
