‘Run by bikers for bikers’ goes the tagline of the roaringly popular Squires Café Bar in Selby, North Yorkshire, which has been rallying – and fortifying – biker troops since the 1970s. Bike and club meets, regular events and live music, an on-site bike shop and a once-monthly Autojumble to pick up secondhand bike gear have all been lined up over the years by owners Harry and Sue, who ran the biker-friendly Squires Milk Bar at Sherburn-in-Elmet before moving here. Café prices at Squires are cheap as chips (which you can have with gravy and stuffed inside a giant Yorkshire pud); for something a bit posher, a carvery of the café’s own farm-reared Aberdeen Angus is available for Sunday roast and on Thursday evenings; and for pints/events, a licensed bar and an events room for hire are available too. Squires Café Bar is open seven days a week in summer, but it’s on Wednesdays and weekends that regulars roar up: Wednesdays following the local biker meet tradition started by Harry and Sue in the 1960s, and weekends for meets, charity events, live gigs and general lounging about in leathers. To preserve the grass areas of the site, the owners allow the use of off-ground barbecues, but not one that will damage the grass. Campfires are not allowed.

喜欢 The cafe itself was ok reasonable priced food and friendly staff

不喜欢 Camp facilities toilet block dated there was a modern shower block but locked up the chemical toilet wast facility was the worst one i had ever seen blocked up

来自经理: We are in the cold winter months now so not all the facilities are open. Just a quick call down to reception to inform us of the blockage would have been nice and more constructive rather than spending your time on the internet complaining.

喜欢 Absolutely love this place. There's always something different happening. The staff are very accommodating and no matter how busy they are when booking in, they are always helpful.

不喜欢 Perhaps there could be a self checking in for camping with a code to unlock the gate...cheaper alcohol prices would be good too

喜欢 Bar/cafe on site which did good food at a fair price served by polite and helpful staff. Plenty to see and do due to the motorbike festival that was on that weekend.

不喜欢 I paid for a pitch with car access on the main field but that was hired out for a function so I was put in the bikers field without the ability to park near my tent. This meant having to manhandle my belongings over the field to my tent which was difficult as I am disabled. Should not have been charged car rate to be put in bikers field.

喜欢 Very efficient booking in. Great sized pitch and facilities.
Lots going on. Extremely friendly staff.
Food and drinks very reasonable and tasty.
We used the dog field too. Easy to book and great for the dogs.

不喜欢 Everything met our expectations. Quite noisy neighbours, but I think it's just that kind of environment. So it didn't bother us too much.
