The clue’s in the name at Scarborough Sea View Camping, a pop-up clifftop retreat on the North Yorkshire coast. All the pitches face the coast, so you will indeed have spectacular views over the sea, in this case the North Sea to Scarborough (15 minutes’ drive), giving you a front-row seat on one of England’s most spectacular coastlines.   You can wake to vibrant sunrises and cosy up on clear evenings to watch sunsets in the west. And there’s more going for this peaceful site as well: it’s on the Cleveland Way National Trail, five minutes’ drive from a beach and 40 minutes from biking and hiking in Dalby Forest. There’s also a farm shop 15 minutes’ walk away, where you can get a decent coffee and homemade food (and a discount as a site guest). There’s plenty of room so you’re free to pitch up where you wish. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, and barbecues or firepits are allowed as long as they’re raised off the ground to protect the grass.  A couple of words of caution: Scarborough Sea View Camping is exposed. It gets very windy at times, so take care when erecting tents and ensure everything is well secured. Facilities are simple: a chemical disposal point and a water supply (although this comes directly from the mains, the site owners recommend that you use bottled water for drinking for your safety), but there are no toilets or showers on site. The access road is alongside a grass field, so please ensure that your vehicle is suitable for the terrain.

来自经理: As far as we’re aware the site is described accurately on this platform and camping is usually on grass.

The site is off grid and as such has the views, location and atmosphere a commercial campsite can rarely offer.

Maybe an Air BnB property booking and a budget of more than £20 a night would be the way forward :-)

喜欢 Obviously the view is a big factor.

A very quick walk to the beach from the campsite.

不喜欢 I disliked the fact that no drinking water exists here. Yes it made clear in the description.

My experience was let down by the neighbours that just decided to play music most of the night. Unfortunately it was near the only wind break.

The other neighbours didn't even pay to use the campsite. It feels like the price I paid was quite steep for what was available. It simply feels like the site is just a field for the land owner to have a provided passive income.

The gate and road leading up where basically just a field with tracks leading up. If you had a bicycle it's not really rideable.

I believe the price for what is given is a bit much l.
More campsites do exist.

There is a treated water supply to the site but we recommend bottled water for drinking as it’s a shared tap (only our recommendation).

We are available 24/7 on WhatsApp for any noisy neighbours so we would have sorted that for you.

Yes the site is off grid and the access road isn’t smooth but that is mentioned in the description of the site.

The area is in a unique position on the Yorkshire Coast with uninterrupted views miles in each direction.

That said that’s not for everyone and you’re right you have a choice.

Your comment on the land owner making an income from the land is pretty much how the economy works and as you know land amongst other things doesn’t come for free .. 🙂🙂

喜欢 Beautiful and quiete spot overlooking Cayton Bay beach.
Clean and well taken care of. Good use of space, and not overcrowded.
There are also chemical toilets, which were clean as well.

喜欢 The site, good ground for a tent, plenty of toilets, 1 water pipe that's all you need, views are stunning, if you want to get away from it all this is the place, no noise at all from other campers, this is not glamping or somewhere with showers, they specifically state this on their site, this is back to basics and that's what we wanted, absolutely perfect, booking again soon

喜欢 Amazing views & location. Perfect for us as off grid campers. Excellent information ahead of arrival and really helpful owners with help information on Taxis to help with our visit to the Scarborough open air theatre. Perfect evening followed by a refreshing swim in the sea in the morning, then a cup of Yorkshire tea & cake. Couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you, we will be back :)

喜欢 Beautiful views and access was pretty straight forward. Reasonable price for what you got. Just be aware its portaloos no showers available. Pitch size was not too bad either, id say big enough for what you need over a night or 2. We will use again

Walkers will perk up when they hear that the site is right on the Cleveland Way National Trail, while energetic surfers can catch waves at popular Cayton Bay (five minutes’ drive). Outdoorsy families can head for Go Ape or follow scenic biking and walking trails in Dalby Forest (40 minutes), and if the weather turns against you, there’s an indoor pool at Alpamare UK swimming complex (15 minutes). Scarborough (15 minutes) has lots to offer families: a clifftop castle to explore, mini-train rides down the promenade, boat cruises to look for dolphins, and a choice of sandy beaches backed by amusement arcades. There are cheeky penguin antics to laugh over at Sea Life Scarborough aquarium (20 minutes), which also has Yorkshire’s only seal hospital. If you prefer your days at the Yorkshire seaside with fewer crowds, head for Filey Brigg (10 minutes), where you can get the kids searching for fossils or exercising the dog along a nigh-deserted beach. Humanby Gap (15 minutes) is another quiet dog-friendly option, with stunning North Sea views from the clifftop path.
