What customers say
Cracking cliff-top views over Cayton Bay! Spacious sites, perfect for coastal exploring. Basic but clean portable toilets & water. Some found it breezy with flies, but most rave about the peace, stunning scenery & value. Lots keen to return!

perfect overnight stay, camper or tentbox
Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Outstanding views and just a short drive to scarborough
Disliked The site shows a map that indicates a toilet block, this isnt the case there is plenty of portaloos but not really anywhere to wash/freshen up

From the manager: Thanks for your feedback.
This is a ‘pop up off grid site’ and as a result has outstanding views and is in a great location, it does make reference to that on the pitch up… (which is the site you used to make the booking).
There is a water supply and well maintained portaloos.
We’ll change the wording of ‘toilet block’ which will hopefully make it clearer.

Bank holiday
Unpowered grass motorhome site
Liked Beautiful location, well kept and clean toilets, easy to find. Second time staying here based on our first experience we would definitely stay again but maybe avoid bank holiday.
Disliked Nothing that reflects the sites owner at all - Unlike our first stay here it was quite busy, it was bank holiday, sunny and very hot, the majority of campers were families enjoying their stay which was nice to see, however we suspected that people were locking the toilets from the outside as the nearest ones always appeared locked on each visit and had to queue for the one or two that were unlocked- which is unusual, the usually secure gate was open all weekend and there appeared to be more vehicles there than the advertised capacity, the couple in the tent next door who parked in our marked pitch, had their phone alarms going off at 5 am and kept starting their car engine up all through the night which prompted us to leave earlier than anticipated, which was a shame.

We would re-visit but only if a pitch with a view was pre-bookable
Unpowered grass motorhome site
Liked A fabulous view from the top of the cliffs and freedom to raise a bbq off the ground, handy for the coast path and dog friendly.
Disliked Lack of defined pitches and no pitch allocation, it was busy when we visited and difficult to pitch with a view as you couldn’t pre-book pitches. There were several pitches with multiple occupants squashed on.

From the manager: Yep you booked a bank holiday weekend in a heatwave and most sites including ours were full to capacity.
The majority of other times choosing your own pitch works very well on this site.
Enquiring beforehand or choosing alternatives dates would mean at times you could have most of the camping area to yourselves.
We’re also on WhatsApp 24/7 we may have been able to sort this out for you.
If they fixed these things I would definitely go again.
Unpowered grass motorhome site
Liked Excellent position, great beach you could walk to. Such good weather we didn’t actually do anything else than beach days!
Disliked Not enough toilets for the busy times and
they ran out of blue fluid fairly quickly
So just recycled urine to clean stuff away. This was a bit gross, especially in the hot
Weather. Also email said there was drinking water and when we arrived there
was a notice on the tap to say it
Wasn’t drinking water!!!! And you could
Do with 2/3 large bins for rubbish. Nuisance having to take it home.

From the manager: Yes it was an unusually busy bank holiday weekend.
The portaloos are maintained by an outside contractor and are as a rule very good.
The water from a mains treated supply however we have a sign to say we recommend bottled water for drinking as it’s a shared tap. However it’s only our recommendation.
The site is off grid and as such HGV’s won’t enter the site as it’s essentially a grass field on the coast line.
We do put all the above on the site description.
