Wow, it’s a splendid view of the River Wharfe that you get from the pitches at Grassington Campsite. If you’re looking for a back-to-basics Yorkshire camping adventure with the kids during the school summer holidays, this spot surely must be on your list. A pop-up campsite with grass pitches, it’s five minutes’ walk from the centre of Grassington, gateway to expeditions throughout the scenic Yorkshire Dales National Park. There are shops in the village for stocking up on foodie treats, and you can abandon self-catering to head for local cafés and tea rooms, or perhaps check out a traditional Yorkshire pub – there are several inviting options within 10 minutes’ drive. If you get your timing right, you may get to see stars of the small screen filming ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ in Grassington – but what is guaranteed, however, is that you can walk stretches of the Dales Way directly from the campsite (bring any dogs to join in the fun). The amenities back on site include a toilet trailer with ladies and gents toilets and a unisex shower trailer. There is no electricity, so bring torches for finding your way back to your pitch after dark.

喜欢 Not a lot. Over priced - facilities are appalling. Charging far too much for a parking space on a field, with alleged attractive views.
Give it a wide birth and save your money - park on the road, as it is just as noisy in this pitch.
This is Rip of Britain at its best!

We take great pride in our location and the views it offers, and many of our guests choose us specifically for this reason as you can see from our previous reviews. However, we understand that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

As for the road sound, you had the whole site to yourself you could have been further away from the roadside but sadly you decided to park on the pitch nearest to the road as you were worried about your low profile tyres.

We also want to clarify our pricing. Our rates are carefully set to reflect the costs of maintaining our grounds, and the facilities we provide for our guests. We believe our prices are competitive for the area and the services we offer.

We wish you all the best in finding a campsite that better suits your expectations in the future.

喜欢 Loved it , great location, views , pubs on doorstep and loads of walks. Super friendly guy and hired fire pit for just a fiver. Will defo go back next year

喜欢 Quiet, spacious. Mobile toilets and showers much better than I expected. Clean. Shower cabin was huge and great hot powerful shower.

喜欢 Gorgeous views. Shower was warm and constant flow which rare when camping. Very spacious showers/changing room. Walking distance to Grassington which has lots of shops/cafes/pubs. Lots of lovely local walks.

不喜欢 No warm water to wash hands in toilet block or resources to dry hands. No shelter to wash pots which was fine as it didn’t rain when needed to wash up but if it was raining this would have been an issue.

喜欢 What an absolute gem! Beautiful view over the river wharf. Just a little stroll into Grassington village. The owner was very helpful and welcoming, we will definitely be back ❤️

Let the kids have a run around among the bewitching follies and water fountains at The Forbidden Corner (45 minutes’ drive), and for an active family day scrambling around on zipwires, make for Raven Tree Top Adventure (20 minutes). At Bolton Abbey (25 minutes), wander among spectacular church ruins, take the stepping stones across the River Wharfe and watch open-air cinema in summer months. Close by is Hesketh Farm Park (25 minutes), where the whole family can pet farm animals and get lost in the straw maze. Hit a rainy day? No problem; take a trip deep underground to see prehistoric fossils and limestone formations at Stump Cross Caverns (10 minutes). To explore the dales on two legs, stroll down to Linton Falls (10 minutes’ walk) from your pitch and follow the Dales Way down to Hebden Suspension Bridge (half an hour). For wild dales views, circumnavigate the lake at Grimwith Reservoir (five minutes’ drive), and for more demanding hikes, follow the way-marked route up to the top of Simon’s Seat (20 minutes) to look out over Barden Fell.
