It’s easy to roam wild from Stag Park, a peaceful and well-maintained tourer site in the middle of County Durham countryside, as it’s on the cusp of scenic walks in Hamsterley Forest or Weardale (both 20 minutes’ drive). Half an hour’s drive away, there’s also an unmissable hike along the River Tees leading to High Force Waterfall – the highest falls in England. This little green haven has rural views from all its pitches, which are all fully serviced with electric hook-ups and fresh water, neatly divided up by hedges and provided with their own picnic tables. There’s also a shared picnic area, while showers, toilets and a washing-up area are available at one end of the site. Once you’ve settled in, you’ll probably want to say ‘hi’ to the resident deer, goats and donkeys – the latter are particularly keen to make friends with all guests. There’s a large supermarket in Bishop Auckland (15 minutes’ drive) if you need a stock up of provisions, and a scattering of rural pubs within 20 minutes or so by car if you’d rather dodge the cooking altogether.

Lovely to see Keith the donkey, family of deer and geese in the adjacent field.

不喜欢 Shower/toilets could be better (portable units), owners negotiating with local council.
Having said that, they are kept spotlessly clean and attended to several times a day.

喜欢 Such a beautiful site, we had a fantastic weekend. Owner was very friendly & helpful on arrival. Our kids loved the park & the animals in the next field ! Toilets were lovely & clean! Loved the fact we had our own private plot with picnic table. We had our tea outside both nights. WiFi an absolute bonus for the kids! Will definitely recommend to friends & visit again! Thank you so much 😊 10/10

IT WAS VERY SAFE as they have electric gates they close at night...toilets spotless...
Lads always out maintaining the grounds.
Would definitely recommend for a relaxing weekend....

喜欢 Really liked the friendly atmosphere of the site, nothing was too much trouble, the facilities were always clean and tidy, even during peak times. Pitches are a decent size and each pitch has its own water source which was convenient! Animals were a cute addition too!

不喜欢 Only one tiny downside was that there are only two toilets/showers. This did mean waiting at peak times however didn’t effect our stay!

喜欢 Only stayed for one night as bought a new tourer and didn't want to travel back for hours the same day. Loved how welcoming and helpful the staff were. The wife loved opening the bedroom window to Keith and his mates. Loves it that much booked again for a full week in August. Toilets clean, all round beautiful place.
