Have fishing rod, will travel. If your dream holiday involves sitting on the banks of a peaceful lake while casting a line, Gatton Waters Caravan Park might well be the place for you. Sitting a five-minute drive from the Norfolk village of Hillington, this adults-only site spreading over 24 acres has its own coarse-fishing lake, stocked with carp, roach, rudd, perch, bream and tench. It also has a fully-stocked bar open on weekends. While you indulge your favourite activity, the rest of your family (and the dog, who is a welcome guest here) might prefer to explore the surrounding woodlands, which is inhabited by hares and other wildlife. Speaking of wildlife, the lake itself attracts plenty of winged creatures; however, if you’re into birdwatching, you should take the half-hour drive to Scolt Head Island National Nature Reserve, an area of salt marshes and sand dunes populated by terns, plovers and wintering geese. Some might prefer a day at the seaside, maybe at sandy Brancaster Beach (25 minutes) or Holkham Beach (40 minutes), or at Blakeney Point (45 minutes), which is known for its seal colony. Want to catch a spectacular Norfolk sunset? Head to Snettisham Beach (20 minutes), then get back to the site for an evening barbecue (stopping for provisions in Hillington, which has a fully stocked convenience store and a petrol station). Not in the mood for cooking? There are plenty of pubs serving locally sourced food and ales in the nearby villages. Amenities at the caravan park include ladies’ and gents’ heated shower and toilet blocks, and a washing-up area, as well as electric hook-up, chemical disposal, wifi and charging and recycling facilities.

喜欢 Lovely site, personally escorted to pitch by Mark who was super helpful. Very peaceful and some lovely people who stay there for the season who were very friendly. So mindful to sit and watch the activity on the lake whilst being visited occasionally by a young family of friendly geese.

喜欢 Everything! But especially the staff who were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Pitching is very relaxed, the area we stayed in was a few spaces from the lake. The on-site bar was very good and a nice place to meet other guests. The facilities building nearest to our pitch was very clean and tidy. Very convenient for Sandringham Estate.

喜欢 Peaceful, lovely location. Very close to Sandringham. Lovely to be able to have a little pub on site with very reasonable prices.

不喜欢 Very dry and dusty but after such alot of dry weather not really anything the site could do. Possibly close in the dog field.

喜欢 Love it here. So well situated for days out. Facilities are clean and cleaned regularly. Lovely to be around the lake although we’re not fishers. Pizza wagon good for a night off cooking. Lovely to have the onsite bar open a few nights to chill out and play games, pool, darts over a couple of pints
