How would you like to stay at an award-winning forest park with walks through sheltered tree groves, a sun patio to bask on, plenty of play areas for the youngsters and hilltop viewpoints taking in a sandy beach, the Norfolk coastline and the famed golf course at Royal Cromer? You would? Then take the family tree to Forest Park, a pristinely pretty park set among 100 acres of the Norfolk Coast National Landscape. There’s loads to do on site alongside the woodland walks and gaping at the views, from the grassy space on site for kids to play ball games and run about to the cycling routes in the local area. Forest Park is a mile from the seaside town of Cromer, where there are plenty of restaurants dishing up Cromer crab. Back on site, there's a bar-restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner (opening times vary). The well-stocked park shop sells fresh honey produced at the on-park bee hives, alongside fresh hot drinks made with locally sourced coffee beans and freshly baked croissants, bread and pastries: just follow your nose. Toys, camping equipment, newspapers, gifts and a good selection of groceries are also on offer.

喜欢 The fairy trail was perfect for our 5 year old granddaughter. The surrounding trees. Its location for Cromer town, Amazon zoo which was brilliant, and other places along the coast.

不喜欢 The nearest shower block was closed our entire stay so a fair track to the next, with just 3 showers. The fact we weren't told on booking in that we would require a card to use the barrier when entering. Apparently it was in all the literature handed out which we did not have chance to read before our first trip off the site. A little sign on the reception counter stating you need an entry card to operate the barrier would be so simple. The playground was very poor. 1 baby swing, 1 ordinary swing and a wooden pirate ship which hardly stirred the imagination!! Then 2 further swings elsewhere. Many pitches were on a slope, including ours, but fortunately we had tge equipment to sort that.

喜欢 We thought the site was ok but not outstanding. The free kiddies pool table was a hit with my grandson and I liked the enclosed off lead dog area. Staff were friendly.

不喜欢 Sloping pitches and insufficient shower facilities for the size of the site. The free WiFi kept dropping which was annoying.

喜欢 Everything about this site was perfect. Very tidy and site in a beautiful setting. Great facilities. Friendly helpful staff. The onsite pub and restaurant was absolutely superb with a very high standard of food. We were expecting microwave lasagne and Ross fish but everything was home made and of a very high standard I had venison steak and it was fantastic. We will definitely be going back next year.

不喜欢 Not being given an entry card and no means to contact anyone to let us in as no staff on or security answering calls.
Bar tables not cleaned from the evening b4 as arrived for breakfast on opening and tables dirty with food on floor

喜欢 Everything! The site is clean and tidy. The forest walks are beautiful and I especially loved the pigs!
Security was brilliant when some idiots lit a BBQ only a few hours after we had the alert on our phones.
I really loved the dog unleash field, it's a great idea to give the dogs a bit of freedom!
The pub and restaurant are great too!

不喜欢 To be fair this is not the sites fault but but people walking through other people's pitches! Drives me and my dogs crazy!

From Forest Park, you can see the village of Overstrand, which has a beach; from here, walk the mile and a half into Cromer for its funfair, zoo, theatre, museums and that famed Cromer crab (buy in the town or catch your own off the pier). If you’re angling for other fishy treats, try fishing for bass off the pier or taking a boat out to sea to land some cod. Two long-distance walking routes finish in Cromer: the Norfolk Coast Path which runs 45 miles from here to Hunstanton and the Weavers’ Way, a 56-mile route going to Great Yarmouth. Wildlife including seabirds and seals can be spotted from many places along the coast, with seal-spotting boat trips available from Blakeney (half an hour's drive). The kids should enjoy days out to places like Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens and the award-winning adventure park BeWILDerwood (both half an hour). Meanwhile, grown-up activity in the area includes exploring Norfolk’s many history and heritage sites: roam around the rhododendrons at Sheringham Park (15 minutes), check out the royal retreat of Sandringham (an hour) or get lost wandering around the Holkham estate (an hour) with beaches, nature reserve, woodland play area and outdoor theatre.
