If you like to burrow deep into the countryside for a good time but prefer to still be glitteringly close to towns, cities and well-known attractions, Gopsall Hall Farm is the place to be. A base for you, the kids and the dogs, this family-run farm site is just a 10-minute drive from Twycross Zoo and 20 minutes from the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre. The city lights of Leicester are about 45 minutes’ drive to the east, Derby about an hour north, and the galleries and museums of busy Birmingham about half an hour away. The set-up back at base is just as attractive as the location. There are luxury showers and hairdryers (better keep the barnet in tip-top condition for all those nearby day trips). Barbecues are allowed on site, so be sure to pick up supplies from the farm shops that are within a short drive of the site. The farm is placed well away from the nearest towns, which has two big perks: there are pretty walks directly from the farm and gorgeous starry skies when the conditions are just right.

Always have a fantastic time here, thinks it’s our 4th or 5th time over the years. facilities clean and tidy, other guests are very respectful of the shared spaces. Lovely staff and grounds

不喜欢 Not their fault of course having a ban on BBQs and fire pits due to the hot/dry weather we’ve been having. However, facilities have been great and we managed perfectly fine. Hopefully next year we’ll be able to do a BBQ and a camp fire

喜欢 Lovely site always cleaning lovely little park for younger ones. We arrived Sunday so caught the back end of the music but will be back to experience the full music experience.

不喜欢 Only recommendation would be perhaps to jetwash the washing up area as not very clean around the sinks. Though not a major issue we always clean the sink down before & after washing up but not everyone does.
Also maybe a bit better signage on the main road & when we arrived as to where to go but these were really minor things & didn't detract from the lovely site that they clearly put a lot of effort into.

当地景点

To the zoo! Less than two miles from base, Twycross Zoo and World Primate Centre has all species of great apes among its thousand or so residents from 200 species. The zoo has a nature reserve and soft play area too to swing around in, and daily activities like keeper talks and animal feeds (wave at the meerkats when they pop up for supplies each morning and the penguins waddling around each afternoon). Twycross is in Atherstone, Gopsall Hall Farm’s local town on the border with Leicestershire – the Coventry Canal runs through town too, to snap scenic shots along the towpath, including ones of the Coventry Art Trail, public pieces put up here by local artists. Since Rick 3 was rediscovered in 2012 under a Leicestershire car park, interest in the possibly-bad king has skyrocketed, so make room for a day at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre to find out all the up-to-date info. (Sadly, however, whether he did bump off his nephews in the Tower is still a matter of fierce academic debate). Townwise, Market Bosworth and Ashby-de-la-Zouch, possible adolescent home of one Mr Adrian Mole, Esq, are both within 10 to 15 miles for additional day trips: make it midweek for the former, as Bosworth’s Wednesday market has been running since the 13th century.
