A serene and scenic site that’s often treated to spectacular sunsets – how splendid. Head three miles out of Grantham to get to Harrowby and the greenery of Herigerbi Park. This peaceful, well-maintained site is on a one-acre slightly sloping paddock with woods all around and some fab views over the valley. There are regular appearances from the resident wildlife, and fish to be spotted in the site’s pond (they’re for ornament only though, mind you – no fishing here please). For that relaxed rural vibe this has been kept as a basic site, with facilities stretching to one toilet and a wash-hand basin in a renovated barn with electric light. It's all nicely maintained nevertheless: the grass is mown every week and all is kept neat around the paddock and site; there's easy access too to the grounds via the five-bar gates directly off the road. You’re welcome to light up a barbie for sausage sizzles; a food shop is within a mile and handily open late daily.

喜欢 Friendly owner, it does what it says on the tin . Toilets very clean and it was a nice peaceful stopover

不喜欢 Didn't like coming out the gates onto the road I felt very vulnerable leaving my motorhome half way on the road to close the gates I didn't feel safe.

喜欢 Beautiful spot, easy to find and access with a friendly owner on site. Lovely facilities with fantastic extra little touches with things available to use in communal areas if required eg. Coffee, tea's, mugs, glasses, sheltered seating in the area with an excellent washing up facilities and games available to play. We also spotted shower gel etc. in a beautiful looking shower cubicle that we didn't use on this occasion. Lovely little pond and small woodland are for people to camp. We had lots of space so it felt very private. It is a small road that goes past the site so minimal road noise, we found it very peaceful and we had parked up closest to the entrance. 100% recommended, we don't often revisit a site but this might be an exception. You can tell the owner takes pride in their site and offering a great experience!

不喜欢 The only negative I could mention is that the pitchup ad is not doing this site justice. I'm sure it only mentions one toilet when there are 3 available and the are beautiful done!!! We were very impressed with the facilities here.

喜欢 Toilets and shower block very clean and tidy. Washing up area clean and tidy, with cloths and washing up liquid. I might have got lucky that people left it.

喜欢 This is a most delightful gem of a campsite: pretty & secluded. We knew that the facilities were basic for washing-up etc but in fact, the shower is worthy of a hotel & everything is super-clean. Games, teas, communal fridge & other delightful touches make this site a real find

不喜欢 We couldn’t find the fresh water tap- could have rung the proprietor (who we didn’t meet as were just there overnight) but we had our own supply

Folks with a penchant for fine buildings will no doubt want to nab a couple of trips to nearby National Trust properties: the gorgeous town house and walled gardens of Grantham House are five minutes’ drive away, and there are often family-friendly events at Belton House (10 minutes) as well as a splendid porcelain collection, fab formal gardens and a huge adventure playground. Also worth a visit is Woolsthorpe Manor, 15 minutes away; at the former home of local clever clogs Isaac Newton you can even see the famed tree from which fell the apple that started giving him ideas. There are no world-changing trees at Easton Walled Gardens, 10 minutes away, but it’s a lovely visit to these restored 400-year-old gardens nonetheless (and there’s an excellent tearoom too). Scoot over to Sleaford in 20 minutes or so to visit the National Centre for Craft & Design or get up close to the planes at the friendly (and free) Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum. Big-city attractions are 45 minutes away in Nottingham.
