Ten acres of space, two fishing lakes, two main roads close by for easy journeys… the numbers stack up pretty well for Walnut Lakes, in the Lincolnshire countryside just under 15 minutes’ drive from Boston. There’s plenty of space to relax at this park, and it’s all reserved for the grownups, as children aged 14 and under are not permitted on site. Dogs are very welcome, however, and can have a good stretch of the legs on the dedicated half-mile dog walk. As the park is so handily placed for both the A16 and A17, it’s also easy to get out and about to lots of other good places for a walk (whether you’re taking a dog or not…) The central highlight of this farm site is the two lakes, Walnut and Daisy – both fabulous spots for fishing (please bring the relevant licence along) or simply chilling out by the water and enjoying the views.You’ll get views across the lakes from all around the park too, if you’d rather hide out in your own little private corner for a while. This is a park with something of a rural atmosphere, but it’s also one that’s well placed for amenities – within a mile you can walk to a couple of pubs, shops, a restaurant and bus stops (for services to Boston and Spalding). The surrounding area has plenty more to offer in terms of places to eat, drink and shop as well. And of course, it’s well supplied with attractions for your days out too – have a look at the information on site for some ideas.

Regarding electricity, our pitchup site says electric is pay as you go extra on site and yet you have decided to book us with us therefore I do believe it’s a rather unfair remark.

喜欢 Very good fishing quite and peacefully in all.

不喜欢 Would have liked the electric to be at at least 12 amp not 10. But it didn't cause to much of problem. However most motorhome an caravan suit 12 or 16 amp electric better. Perhaps the owners might consider this.

喜欢 Beautiful, well maintained site with welcoming hosts. Small dog walk around the edge of the site which is always handy when it’s your first night of arrival. Spacious pitches and peaceful site. We didn’t fish but plenty did, and appeared to be catching some big ones! All in all a lovely stay and great camp for exploring the area for day trips out.

不喜欢 Shower rooms could definitely do with some upgrades, not a huge issue really as we often stay on sites without any so we made do but the water pressure wasn’t great and felt like being in someone’s private bathroom.

喜欢 Friendly welcome by the owner. Pleasant surroundings, pitch overlooking one of the ponds. 30 min walk to local village pub. Peaceful site( can hear the hum of the nearby A road, however this didnt bother us). Good for fishing. Good base for drives to Boston and Lincoln.

不喜欢 Shower and toilet block needs updating, however they were clean and adequate (the owner informed us they recently purchased the site, and will eventually upgrade them).
There was nothing else not to like.

喜欢 Spacious pitches with lots of privacy, toilet and showers are excellent. Peace and quiet and great fishing on the top lake.

不喜欢 Nothing much, can be a little bit of road noise from nearby A17

Alternatively, maybe you’d like to try a visit to Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre (15 minutes) or a river cruise on the Boston Belle (15 minutes). Other ideas for days out might take you to the likes of Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens (15 minutes), the World War II museum We’ll Meet Again (20 minutes) or the intriguing little Bubblecar Museum (20 minutes). Looking a little further afield, you may like to try a day out in King’s Lynn (35 minutes) or some time on the beach in Skegness (45 minutes), which also has a seal sanctuary, an aquarium and a model village.
