Leicestershire bound? Perhaps you’ll end up at Bradshaw Farm, a site on a working farm situated between the two rural villages of Stapleton and Dadlington, with Hinckley 10 minutes’ drive away. Pitches are on a nicely level field, and there are simple shared shower facilities. When you're in the mood for what's bound to be a relaxing soak, on-site hot tubs can be hired for an additional fee charged per hour. Every last weekend of the month (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and on bank holidays, the site has a range of wine, beer and spirits for guests to buy. There’s also well-stocked farm shop across the road, where you can pick up seasonal fruit, veg, fresher-than-fresh organic produce and home-grown plants; you can order a hearty cooked breakfast and tasty lunch there too. If you’re looking for a decent selection of pubs and restaurants to try, Hinckley (10 minutes’ drive) is the place to head for; you can top up on any other supplies from the supermarkets while you’re there. In general, this place is a fine choice if you want to get away for some R&R in the countryside.

喜欢 The peace and quiet. It’s spot on for me. I only stay there for somewhere to sleep. Up early and gone.

不喜欢 I wouldn’t say disliked but when you go in the entrance, the track has some deep holes which could maybe be levelled a bit.

喜欢 The team are fabulous! welcoming and so helpful. They bought the ponies over for the children to pet.
Shop is very rustic, but lovely and sells all food and drinks necessities.
Paddling pools to hire for £8 per day which is great in the summer.
Jacuzzis can be hired for £10 per hour

不喜欢 No hot running water for washing up dishes and hand washing.
I'm not a fan of portaloos, but they were well looked after.

喜欢 Lovely farm run by a kind couple. The campsite is basic but clean. The toilets in good condition and stocked. Loved the little farm shop with fresh fruit!

不喜欢 The camping field is quite uneven and there were a few taller plants. Not the safest for little children and a bit tricky to navigate in the dark.

When golf is your game, you’ll be pleased to know there are several courses within about 20 minutes’ drive of the site. For watching high-octane pursuits like motor-bike racing, you’ll have to catch the right day at Mallory Park Racing Circuit (10 minutes’ drive). Take a waterside stroll in Market Bosworth Country Park (10 minutes), or learn more about the notorious battle of 1485 on guided walking tours at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre (also 10 minutes), where the kids can dress up as knights for the day and there are occasional weekend enactments of fiercely fought medieval battles. If you’d like to know more about the infamous King Richard III, whose remains were found in a Leicester car park, visit his royal tomb at the King Richard III Visitor Centre (40 minutes). Still in the city, you can clamber aboard rockets at the National Space Centre, and let off steam in East Street Lanes bowling alley (both make great choices for any rainy days with the offspring).
