Make yourself comfortable and soak up rural views over Leistershire's Welland Valley at Hidden Hideaway, a small-scale site two miles from the village of Hallaton. Hidden away (as the name suggests) in a spacious and sheltered camping field, these pitches are well-placed for idle or active breaks in Central England's pretty countryside. Staying here puts a good number of footpaths within easy reach, with a few rights of way directly accessible from the site. The pride and joy of Hidden Hideaway has to be the site's very well-maintained toilet and shower block (see the photos for a more detailed inspection). Other handy amenities are available here, including a nifty chemical disposal and grey water point. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome on site, but please make sure that they're on a lead at all times when out and about and kept outside of the facilities block. Hallaton's village pub (which is also dog-friendly) is a couple of miles away if you're on the hunt for relaxed drinks or a meal out, while for a supermarket shop you're best off heading to the several options available in Market Harborough (20 minutes' drive).

喜欢 This beautiful site is absolutely one we wouldnt hesitate to return to.
First off..
The owner - Ellie is a wonderful host who checked in with us when she could (its a working farm after all) and was polite, knowledgeable and very helpful. I recieved a message after our first night to make sure all was ok, which we thought was really nice. All in all, a lovely person.
The site - The camping pitches are HUGE with enough room for a.large family. It is as level.as it can be, and very cosy. It is exposed, so the wind is constant, although that could also be because of the time of year.
The Facilities - basic but very very clean and smelt lovely and fresh. There is hot hot water, a couple of showers and toilets. The washing up area is between 2 toilet/shower rooms and again, was clean. There is also the ability to dispose and recycle rubbish at the allocated bins. Dont do what my other half did though and walk straight past them, or you might end up facing a cow staring deep into your soul.
Final Verdict- Would definitely stay here again. It was peaceful and calming. The night sky is stunning, and waking up to nature's sounds is the icing on the cake.

喜欢 Loved this site, large grassy pitches with or without EHU, super clean loos, showers and wash up area. Lovely walks from farm and great area to explore. Near Rutland Water, Foxton Locks and several pretty villages and pubs. Nice when the dogs came to visit. Lovely welcome from Ellie.

Immaculate shower and toilets which were fully equipped with everything you could need
Great washing up area with a fridge and first aid kit
Fire pits and picnic benches
Wonderful views at sunrise and sunset
No road noise or light pollution

喜欢 This is a beautiful location, next to nature in a lovely clean set up, with beautiful views.
I loved the fact you couod hear farmyard animals in the surrounding fields. The site owner is very pleasant and helpful, we definitely plan to revisit.

不喜欢 Not a dislike as such but we found the electric box wasn't equidistant between pitches so our electric lead wasn't really long enough. We sorted this by strategically pitching the tent. Not a major issue, we've now bought an extension lead to prevent ant future occurrenceson other pitches.

For a mix of meals out, bargain hunting and smart independent shops, head to nearby market towns like Market Harborough, Uppingham (20 minutes) or Oakham (30 minutes), where you can also take the kids for animal-themed jaunts at Rutland Farm Park. The very special town of Stamford (35 minutes) over in Lincolnshire also warrants a day trip or two, especially if you're a fan of Georgian architecture. If you're on holiday with the kids, they'll likely appreciate visits to the National Space Centre in Leicester (45 minutes), Twycross Zoo (an hour and 10 minutes) or Drayton Manor Theme Park (an hour and 10 minutes). And for something more serene and sedate? The graceful gardens around Burghley House (45 minutes) and Belton House (an hour) will take care of that.
