Set in a perry pear orchard on an organic cattle farm: that sounds almost poetic. As are the views from the spectacularly scenic little place of West End Farm Campsite, set in the horseshoe bend of the River Severn on the edge of the peaceful Gloucestershire village of Arlingham, and adjacent to the river with easy access to the footpaths of the Severn Way. A rather smashing pub is within easy walking distance too: the Red Lion freehouse (owned by the village, hurrah) with tiptop locally sourced food, real ale and regular events like quiz nights and folk nights – all just the ticket after a peaceful pedal or serene stroll along the river paths or region's quiet flat roads…? West End Farm has a toilet block and chemical disposal. Both barbecues and campfires are allowed on site.

喜欢 Quiet rural location. Good walks around area with plenty of pubs and a cafe nearby.

Check in was easy. Facilities were good and in good clean condition.

喜欢 Nice flat pitches with plenty of space and hedges between. Hot water for washing up and showers

不喜欢 Only 3 toilets and 1 washing up sink. Rubbish and recycling bins were full

喜欢 Lots of open space,plenty of room for each pitch. Lovely hot shower. Fantastic walks along the Severn Way,and a short walk to the local pub. All in all,a great place to chill and unwind for a good price.

不喜欢 Nothing to do with the site or owners,but it's the sheer laziness of other campers. A squeegee mop has been put in each shower/ toilet block to help keep the floor clean. As it's there please use it,just common courtesy really. Apart from that, nothing negative. Note to self,don't book when crows are nest building, noise was horrendous.🤦

喜欢 Spacious pitch with EHU, fabulous spot and lovely local pub. Great walks. Lovely and peaceful

不喜欢 Showers were adequate, although the water stopped running if someone was washing up!

喜欢 Spacious gravel pitch, we opted for electric hook up although I noticed there was EHU on all of the pitches. The village was beautiful with a warm welcoming pub called The Red Lion.

不喜欢 The shower would turn off if people were washing up but hey ho the farm is idyllic you couldn't ask for anything more than this.

喜欢 Spacious pitches. Lovely location for walking and cycling. Recommend Red lion pub a little expensive but worth it, staff excellent. Lovely coffee/ice cream at the farm shop on the doorstep.

不喜欢 Water pressure low during shower but we were aware of this but didn’t last long.

喜欢 Beautiful little campsite. Perfect amenities and amazing to have hot water to wash up. Showers are brilliant. Everything is well thought out and kept clean. The location is remote but near to great pub, cafe and lovely river walks. The birdlife is unreal - so much activity and wonderful to watch the crows doing their pre roost circling ritual every night. Had a very relaxing and peaceful stay here and will definitely return.

喜欢 Really peaceful showers toilets and washing up area very clean and tidy the farmers yard cafe is 2 minutes down the road that does fantastic coffees cakes and pastrys there's also a pub 10 minutes walk that does lovely meals we have booked 3 more nights in June thank you Neil Vaughan

From M5, come off at Junction 13 and take the A38 towards Bristol. You will shortly see a garage on the left. Take the right turning signposted Frampton-on-Severn and continue to The Bell public house on the left. Pass through Frampton, continue straight over the canal bridge and go straight across (SP Arlingham and Fretherne). Do not follow the road to Saul. Continue for approximately 3 miles entering the village of Arlingham and turn left at Red Lion public house into Church Road. Pass the church on your right and West End Farm is on the right in about 250 yards.

West End Farm Campsite's local village is Arlingham, also in the River Severn's horseshoe bend and just off Junction 13 of the M5. The area around the village is fab walking and cycling land, of public footpaths, riverside ambles and flat peaceful roads – all set among the first-class scenery of the England/Wales border area. (Don't know where to start? Ask at the Red Lion for details of their hare, salmon, cattle and skylark wanders.) A couple of miles from the farm is the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal, running between Sharpness and the old docks of Gloucester. It's a pleasant place to while away a few meandering hours, particularly around Patch Bridge, close to the Wildfowl Reserve at Slimbridge which has the world's biggest collection of captive wildfowl. Other local options are Berkeley and the Edward Jenner Museum, where the clever chap first figured out vaccination, and Berkeley Castle, where poor old Edward 2 met his grisly end. Gloucester Cathedral is nine miles from the site; a little further afield are the Norman castle of Goodrich and the Tudor National Trust-managed house of Newark Park.
