喜欢 Second time I have stayed here. Lovely quiet campsite. Plenty of dog walks. Really friendly atmosphere in the pub. Was lucky enough to see Ken Moon, the Harris Hawk fly, an amazing sight.

喜欢 We were looking for an overnight stop to break up our journey down south. The site is conveniently located a short distance from the M1, behind a pub in a quiet little village. Lovely spot to spend a night with the pub, if you need it, on the doorstep. It is a place that we will use again when passing and the area is worthy of further exploring when we have more time. Water at the gate and grey waste on all of the pitches. Good communication with the site owner including a copy of their menu for the pub.

喜欢 Lovely little village with lots of green space all around, plenty of areas to walk dogs or just go walking if you do that sort of thing.
Everything you need was there, big pitch close to the water and elsan tank. Then walk into the pub for some great food and beer, stagger back after into your caravan. The landlady was also brilliant, contacted me on the day of arrival to tell me which pitch i was on. She also has a Harrow Haw called Ken on site who sits and watches over you, a beautiful creature. There is also toilets a short walk away if you don't use what's in your caravan, these are open 24/7.

Overall, a very very good little site, not far from Nottingham or Derby and was the perfect location for us to stay to see my parents a few miles away.
We are 100% going back, very soon.

喜欢 We’ve found our little gem, such a lovely little site which is nice and secure. Sue made us feel very welcome, we also really enjoyed watching Ken Moon (Harris Hawk) gracefully putting on a show. The Checkers Inn is a lovely place to relax with a pint and the food all home cooked by Sue was absolutely delicious.
We definitely highly recommend staying here, we definitely will be back.

喜欢 This a fantastic site, with great pitches that are kept to the highest standard with your very own picnic bench and parasol. This is my 2nd stay and it wont be my last! Having 2 dogs there are many walks right from the front gate of the site, I walked for miles in open countryside.

The adjoining pub, The Chequers Inn, is welcoming especially with your four legged friends, treats are always available. The food is excellent and the range of beverages will suit all pallets.

The campsite plus the pub made a perfect stay for me and my 2 dogs.

I've been motorhoming for 2 years, this was my 1st site back in 2023 and it will take a lot to be beaten in my view.

喜欢 Good flat large sized pitches. Pub on your doorstep. Good base for Derbyshire.

不喜欢 Entry/exit very tight with parked up to the junction at night.

喜欢 Loved the peaceful setting...
A small site which was absolutely perfect...
Each individual pitch had a large hardstanding ,a grassed area with it own picnic bench and umbrella.
We stayed here for 3 nights as it was a base for us to use while our son got married...
Every one was lovely...
We didn't use The Checkers public house this time but have used before...
The food is excellent 👌 😋
