Looking for a back-to-nature site within striking distance of the Peak District National Park? Make haste to Ashover Family Farm, a rural pop-up site 15 minutes’ drive from Chesterfield in Derbyshire. You’ll be camping in a well-maintained, flat meadow sheltered by trees, and although the list of facilities is short – essentially just portable loos (including one with disabled access) in the corner of the field – you have easy access to pubs, a café and a shop selling local produce in Ashover village (15 minutes’ walk/five minutes by car). The pitches are set on a family-run farm with seasonal pick-your-own produce; there are numerous walks (dogs are welcome) from the pitches and you can be out on yomps up to the Nine Ladies Stone Circle on Stanton Moor within 15 minutes by car. You might like to note that Ashover Family Farm does not provide electric hook-ups or showers. It’s also a good idea to pack torches for tracking down the loos on starless nights.

喜欢 Gorgeous views, peaceful site, quiet, family friendly. Lovely to go and see the sunflowers, do the maze and get an ice cream while the little one played in the sandpit.

Portaloos were very clean and the water point was easy to access. No hot water but we knew that beforehand and it wasnt too much of an issue.

喜欢 I didn't want to down grade the overall rating because of lack of facilities. We were aware that this is a pop-up site and there was a portaloo, so have given it a 9/10.

We loved the remoteness and the fact that there were only a small number of campers which I assume is the norm.

There was a portaloo, which was amazingly clean and I think the other campers were all respectful of that.

The site was nice a quiet and we were not bothered by the owner at all.

As a pop-up site, I cannot fault it.
