Tyckte om Absolutely beautiful peaceful site with extra large pitches compared to what we have been use to at other sites. Very well maintained, facilities were clean, handy location to Seaton, Seaham and Durham. Site manager was very friendly and helpful. This has moved to the top of our favourite sites to return to.

Tyckte om On a whole the campsite was ok. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The toilets and showers were clean. The tearoom serves a good breakfast and the service was excellent.

Tyckte inte om Felt the pitches were a bit crammed in, the pitch that was initially reserved for us was unsuitable in size for our requirements. We did get moved to a larger pitch when we asked. We knew before we booked it was on a busy road, it says so on all information but what we didnt realise was how busy and how near some pitches are. It may be a different experience in vans or motorhomes but in a tent, sleep was difficult even with our usual earplugs. And this is the road you have to cross to get to beach so hold on to your dog.

We are sorry the first pitch was not suitable, but glad the team could move you promptly. Our A77 location is shown on the listing and makes Balkenna convenient for a touring stop, although we understand the traffic and the road crossing to the beach may not suit every guest, especially light sleepers. We appreciate the fair review.
