Great location within walking distance to both Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay, via the old rail track which is also a cycle track as well. There are two good pubs close to the site that have a kitchen, be aware that they have opening hours for lunch time service. Good transport links with a Bus stop just outside the campsite.
The site is well looked after and in good condition with views over to Whitby, and as stated clearly there are NO toilets on site. But water is close by and EUC is available and waste disposal of course. It is close to a road but noise in minimal and of course because of the location farming noise as well but again very minimal. This is an ideal site for those who wish to walk and cycle with lots of place to visit on the close by paths which means you don’t have to worry about traffic.
You get an information text from the site which is really helpful and give you all the information you need for your stay, but apart from that we had no more contact with the site owners which is not a bad thing

Second time of coming to Bromyard Downs, great camp site with great hosts. Alan & Penny really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We were here last Oct (when they just opened) and to see the amount of hard work they have put in to transform the site is amazing. you know you are on a winner then the people who run the site do so because they really enjoy and believe in what they do.
The site is just off the A44 so as you get close to the site slow right down as you will come around a bend then see the site on the left side if coming from the Worcester direction, this also means there can at times be a bit of road noise, however it really did not bother us at all. There are two parts to the site, with the hardstanding bottom site and the mainly grass top site (we have stay in both now). Really good water points on both sites, with waste disposal, the sites are very well looked after, clean with the grass cut just right. Most pitches have electric hook ups and there are Portaloo available on both site for those tent camping. There are no showers or washing up Facilities as clearly stated. Reception has a good selection of things to do around the area along with maps for local walks
There is a bus stop just outside the main gate, which is handy if like us you are in a motorhome, and there is now an on-site shop, which sell those little bits and bobs that you need. The prices in the shop are very good and NOT a rip off. They also sell gas (£32 for 6kg Calor Gas Bottle) and have an off license and cold drinks available. Fire pits and logs are also for sale for those cave men and women who like a good fire in the evening. There are lots of walks around the area ranging from 3km right the way up to the Bromyard 26km circular walk. Great views from Bromyard Downs over the Herefordshire countryside. Most importantly there are two pubs within walking distance, the pub Live and Let Live is good 50 min walk away going through the back of the campsite through the wooded area, we have not visited this one as it was just too hot in the 30’s.
The second one is the Royal Oak is just across the Downs about 1 mile away, very nice pub with a great pub garden, they have a Pizza Oven outside which is very popular, and the pub has a good menu as well. Checkout the Pork Pies and Scots Eggs in the pub very nice and locally made.

Pitches are a good size; I was on one of the hard standing pitches at the top of the field with EUC. The views looking out over the camping field are great and there is a short but nice walk down to the local village. The camping field is on a slope so if you get a grass pitch and it busy! it could be a small problem.
Wish I would of know about the path for the walk to Stow (no i did not ask) which would have been a much better option.
Toilets and Showers are available, you must remember it’s a Rugby Club and therefore these facilities will be used by player and supporters in muggy boots. There is a washing up area to the right of the club house which was OK, two sinks and hot water. Club house was open for a drinks but no food, and we were made to feel welcome. We even watched a game from the large club house windows.
To sum up this site really does help support the rugby club, it a basic site which will be windy in that sort of weather. if you have a grass pitch it will be sloping unless you are right at the top of the field. There is not a lot to do on site, but in good weather i can imaging this would not really matter and if you can walk down to Stow via a footpath then this site is perfect location. In fact, it a great location to discover all the Cotswold, but you will need a car or transport. My stay was the beginning of the camping season and of course still in the rugby season, which means the lady who run the site and also the club house is very busy. But she always made time to chat and answer questions.
Top Tip, look at the big white board at the entrance to the field if you have an EUC pitch your name and pitch number will be on it.
Tyckte inte om Toilets where not cleaned in the 48 hrs I was there, but TBH i can understand why.

Från föreståndaren: Hi Mark, thanks for staying with us & for leaving a review, it looks like you enjoyed your stay. One thing we should clarify is that the camping toilets & showers are dedicated to the camp site & located at the entrance to the camping site, it seems the toilets you used were the rugby club toilets which are entirely separate. The camping facilities are warm & clean & looked after daily. Information on local walks & foot paths to the surrounding areas is located in the lobby of the clubhouse so its a bit unfortunate you walked into Stow along the busy road which we wouldn't recommend. Thanks for staying with us we hope to see you again. Stow RFC.

Tyckte om Visited 19 Match to 22 March 2026 3-night stay.
Big pitches with lots of room, the site is in a very quiet area and is well maintained. The pitches are flat and we had hardstanding with EUC as well. There are two toilets and a shower on site, good water points as well. The water point at the entrance has a long hose so you can fill up before you head to your pitch. It a quiet site (No Music) and from the little i seen the weekend I stayed seems to be favourite with the, dare i say it, the older camper who just want to sit and relax. There is a wooded area at the side of the site which is great for walking the dogs around. Lots of footpath around the area for walking, we used the one to get to the next village where there were 2 excellent Pubs (The Boot and Toast) both worth a visit.
The bird song each morning and evening was amazing, and we saw Deer while out walking, this time of the year the routes are muddy with some small hill climbs, but nothing really extreme. Did not see any bus stops around the site area, but did see buses on our walks so a car maybe needed to get out and about.
Tyckte inte om Not really a dislike, no washing up area which would be nice.
Again not a dislike. No Fires, I notice in the wooded area to the side that fire to get rid of waste had been used. Would be great if a communal fire pit could be created in that area. but judging by what i believe this site is aimed at I again can understand why.

Från föreståndaren: Washing up area is a non starter Fire pit would be a mess in a very short time. Fire has been used for wood bits only. Thanks for your comments.

Tyckte om Been here before, it a noticeably quiet and peaceful site that only has room for about 20 pitches. The showers and toilets are nice and clean with loads of toilet paper, as well as a good washing up area. As it says on the web site, it is a working farm and if the cows are drinking the water pressure does drop but 30 min later its back. Hookup is only £5 a day excellent value, the owners also run a nice café just up the road from the site with a great outdoors area in the back. Great Pub (Red Lion) just up the road that serves tasty food, and 3 really loverly walks to chose from. You can have BBQ and a firepit on site as well :)
Can’t say a lot more than I would definitely book again.

Tyckte om Great little camp site, small enough that you don't feel overwhelm.
Showers and toilets where always clean and the bog rolls where replaced quick.
Its a working farm so if you like the owers to be walking around chatting etc, this is not the place for you. There is no contact, but TBH there is really no need.
4 walks circular walk to enjoy and all of them end up at the Local pub (there is a god). Great little cafe just up the road that serves great cakes etc.
You can BBQ and have a fire pit, take your dog as well! What's not to like about this site.
Tyckte inte om This is not a dislike, just a heads up. Its a working farm milk trucks may turn up a little later or early. There are flies about once the wind drops but TBH they seem more interested in sitting on the MoHo than bothering you.
