Tyckte om Peaceful location near to York with lots of bridleways and footpaths across the fields. The ‘free range’ chickens, geese and ducks wondering around the campsite also lovely.

Tyckte om Peaceful rural location, lots of wild life to watch, particularly the barn owl chilling on the fence right in front of our Motorhome, amazing! Facilities absolutely spotless. A little tip for fellow campers, the middle water tap on the row of non-electric pitches has a much wider fitting than a standard UK hose attachment, we were able to use an alternative tap but we’ll make sure we have an adaptor next time just incase. Great communication from Lesley too.

Tyckte om Immaculately clean facilities. Lovely rural location. Pick your own pitch and crack on, we liked the laid back approach. Didn’t actually meet any staff during our 2 night stay. We would definitely go back again but a few things to note, the first field is quite slopped so it isn’t that easy to get parked level if you’re in a larger Motorhome/camper (we’re 7.4m long), you will needs ramps. We booked the site because so many reviews said it was peaceful and quiet, which we can imagine is very true at certain times, we were there over a weekend in August so a lot of children running around late at night shouting and screaming and a large private booking in another field with a lively group of ladies playing music and games (they were having a great time and were quiet by nightfall). Neither of these things were a big issue and certainly hasn’t put us off returning but just wanted to mention it in case someone is looking to book a stay for a peaceful quiet rest, perhaps check if there’s any groups etc booked in first. We also visited the Ocean Walker Academy for a lovely swim (must be pre-booked online) which is a short walk down the lane from the camp site and the local walking paths through surrounding forests were also great.

Tyckte om 3rd Visit this year (March & August) and actually stayed 2 weekends in a row in August because we like it so much! Great facilities, toilets and showers are kept immaculately clean. The staff and owners are really friendly and welcoming. It’s a peaceful location and great for accessing lots of local walking paths as well as the Viking way. The WiFi and phone signal is a bit hit and miss, but we like that! Makes it easier to switch off and relax.
