Leisure Lane RV Resort is a gated community in peaceful parkland with well-maintained grounds, handily set in Montgomery County under 15 minutes' drive from Conroe and about 45 minutes from Houston. There are loads of options to keep you happily occupied here, including a lagoon-style pool with sunbathing areas and covered pavilion, a well-stocked fishing pond, and a gym, a library and a clubhouse for active or relaxed times indoors. If you'd prefer just to amble about these handsome grounds, plenty of grassy areas with benches are around too, along with a community garden to settle down at with a suitable tome from the library. Kids and canine guests can be kept busy with the swing set and a dog park around the grounds. All pitches are fully serviced with hook-up and water. Guests also have access to a laundry room and spotless restroom and shower facilities.

Conroe 15 minutes' drive away is home to several public parks, including Candy Cane Park and its Heritage Museum of Montgomery County. The city's family fun park has a petting zoo, big playground, a rope slide and a huge sandbox; also close by is an aquatic centre with swimming and classes. Seven miles outside the city is Lake Conroe, on the west fork of the San Jacinto and a popular destination for fishing, boating and jetskiing. To the north of the lake is the Sam Houston National Forest, famed for its fishing for species such as catfish and bass, and for its wildlife including deer, bald eagles, woodpeckers and alligators. For scenic woodland wanders, hike through the forest on the 96-mile Lone Star path (and its 32 miles of extensions and loops) which makes up the longest continuous trail in Texas. Several golf courses are around the Conroe, Lake Conroe, Magnolia, Montgomery and Woodlands areas: try Conroe Country Club and River Plantation Country Club, Bluejack National, Village Golf Club, and the Walden club on Lake Conroe.
