Come, weary traveller, and rest a while in the swish surrounds of Glamping Sun Valley Bioterme, just outside the little town of Mala Nedelja.
All here is geared towards wellness: take a short walk down the road to the thermal park and days can be spent soaking in restorative warm waters, being pummelled by a masseur or unwinding in the sauna (or a combo of all three, maybe).
Or might you care to fill your lungs with fresh air as you amble through the area’s forests and meadows, perhaps stopping to sample the produce at a tourist farm or one of the vineyards around nearby Jeruzalem, or to cast your rod into a fishing lake..?
Among all this wholesome activity you’ll no doubt be needing a good feed or few, and you’ll not need to stray far: the glamping site is next to a main hotel building which has a restaurant, coffee shop and a wine cellar stacked with top local tipples. (It’s all pretty relaxed too – they’ll not mind if you potter over in your robe from the spa facilities.)
There’s also plenty of space simply to relax around the site and the glamping units, all of which are set on a hillside and have a wooden deck from which to gaze out over the lovely rural views. Inside, each one has a private bathroom, a kitchen area and comfy beds so you can round off your day with serene slumbers.

Lokala sevärdheter
The gorgeous area around the site was declared a national park in 1976, and is now a fab area for leisurely rambles, hikes, bike rides and horseback outings through the fields and forests. If you fancy foraging for your own food there are mushroom-picking tours to be had, and fishing lakes nearby.
Rather leave it to the professionals? Several farms nearby have their doors open to visitors: hike for an hour or so to get to Vrbnjak tourist farm or Pivičan Kosi farm, where you can sample and pick up all sorts of organic produce. A little further away is the Kocbek oil mill, producer of a highly recommended pumpkin seed oil.
Wash it all down with some excellent wines from the vineyards around Jeruzalem, a 20-minute drive from the site. Whites are the top tipple here (especially the local signature grape Šipon), and the best way to try them out is to follow the Šipon wine route from the town of Ljutomer, 15 minutes’ drive away.
