There's loads to do at the eco-friendly and family-friendly site of Parc de Kievit in the southern Netherlands – and as its Baarle-Nassau setting is between Belgium and the Netherlands, you'll have plenty of pastime picks around two countries too. (Just to start you off, for example, it's an hour to Antwerp from here and an hour and 20 minutes to Amsterdam.)
De Kievit is a few kilometres from the North Brabant province town of Baarle-Nassau, on the border of the Belgian exclaves of Baarle-Hertog (do keep up). You'll see both Belgian and Dutch flags all over town around the site, sometimes on neighbouring houses as one is officially in Belgium while the other is in the Netherlands. (Do keep up, and do go see; it's mighty interesting).
Once you've let the kids know all that in your informative wander around town, zip back to base to let them off the leash at the extensive playground in the upper part of the site, or to plunge into the paddling pool while the grownups have a more sedate time at the neighbouring heated pool. There are tennis courts too if your smalls are of a size to see over the net; miniature golf for miniature golfers, and bikes to hire to fully explore the local woodland.
Essentials are mightily well covered as well: alongside the well-kept showers, toilets and launderette, the site has two charging stations for electric cars; just sort out your charge card and you're all good to go.

Lokala sevärdheter
The Netherlands and Belgium await under 10 minutes' drive away at both Baarle-Nassau and Baarle-Hertog: markers are all around town if you're (understandably) unsure at any point which country you're in. There's plenty of walking and cycling to be had in the surrounding woodland too: ask the Parc de Kievit team for its tips on the best routes.
If you've got the kids in tow, bundle them into the car for the 40-minute drive to the fairytale park of Efteling, the biggest theme park in the Netherlands. A bit further away at 50 minutes is Zoo Veldhoven, specialising in birds and birds of prey, and there's also DippieDoe at Best, an amusement park for the under-13s.
You're well placed for urban days in both countries here: as well as Antwerp and Amsterdam, you can use the site as a base for Eindhoven, within 50 minutes' drive; Turnhout , 20 minutes south over the border; Rotterdam, just over an hour away, and Brussels, within an hour and a half.
