From smart, pre-pitched tents to plenty of activities to wear out kids of all ages, this is a place that's well geared up for family holidays.
Tucked among the olive trees, the modern safari tents all come with a shady terrace (just the spot for lazy afternoon siestas or evening drinks). Inside, they are decked out with a decent-sized kitchen with fridge and cooker, and a comfy living space. As well as double or family bedrooms, each one also has a private bathroom with a loo, shower and sink.
Kids can amuse themselves safely at the outdoor pools and play tennis or volleyball, and families can hire bikes to explore the olive groves. Friendly reception staff will advise on day trips into the Umbrian countryside, or further afield to Assisi and Perugia, and recommend restaurants in the fortified local town of Bevagna. There’s plenty to do in the evening on site too, when the pizza ovens fire up and the bar opens, so that's relaxation time sorted for all ages.
On the practical front, facilities include car parking by tents, a toddlers’ play area and a launderette. A well-stocked on-site shop sells everything you need to whip up a tasty supper (order bread for breakfast here), and if the kids gripe about missing their friends, there’s a wifi connection too.

For cities packed with great art and architecture, head for Assisi (35 minutes) for its mighty basilicas and hilltop Rocca Maggiore castle, or elegant Perugia (45 minutes), where big names in Italian painting are exhibited in galleries. Closer to home, explore Bevagna’s (10 minutes) medieval streets before tucking into a mound of pasta in a cosy trattoria.
If you're into your food and drink, you may like to sign up for a pizza-making class on site. Alternatively, you could take a cycling tour of Umbria’s vineyards or go tasting at olive mills.
