Treat yourselves to a slice of lakeside life at Camping Onlycamp Les Vailhés – this friendly Hérault site is right on the shoreline of Salagou Lake, about 10 minutes’ drive south of Lodève. With that lakefront location come all sorts of benefits, including a beach area where you can swim, go fishing or simply relax on the sand (perhaps with something from the food truck to boost the experience further…) There’s also the added bonus of a busy watersports centre, which has all sorts of activities on offer including canoeing, sailing and windsurfing. You can join in with supervised sessions or hire the equipment (or things like electric boats or pedalos) and strike out under your own steam. Lake views are another benefit, of course – and they’re shared out nicely here, thanks to terracing that gives lots of pitches a view over the water. The site’s restaurant is another place with a lovely outlook over the lake – plus a tempting menu of burgers, salads, sharing boards and the like. Other handy facilities on site include a food shop, a launderette, a chemical disposal point and a bathroom block with toilets and showers. There's also a play area to keep the kids happy while on site. Living right by a lake is sure to be a highlight, but in fact this whole area is a real treat for people who love outdoor activities. There are lots of great hikes and marked mountain bike trails nearby through some stunning landscapes, along with other activities including horse riding and climbing.

Tyckte om Location, friendly staff, clean facilities. The lake is beautiful, make sure to rent an e bike and do a tour up the mountain (rental place is right next to the beach). Thank you for the amazing time!

Tyckte om Lake was stunning. Accessible at anytime. Bar was great with a good choice at different times of the day. Dog could access the lake but not in the swimming area. You can walk around the lake to find an easy accessible dog friendly place. Facilities were cleaned with lots of options across the site. Pitch was well sized for us (mwb) we were able to access from 2pm but need to call for access and get your pitch. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Tyckte om Access to the lake was good. Restaurant was very nice with friendly service and great food.

Tyckte inte om Check in was terrible. We arrived 15 minutes early in 35 degree heat, we were not the only booking trying to check in at this time. When we tried to talk to someone at the reception, the door was closed in front of us and locked. We had no option but to wait in the car park with no shade. When we did check in, the information given was very limited with no site map or other information other than the pitch number. Facilities are the WORST we have experienced, absolutely terrible!! They were not cleaned to an acceptable standard, were locked at random times during the day, loose toilets, loo roll not replenished frequently enough and just generally disgusting. This made our stay uncomfortable and would not return or recommend.

Tyckte om Super camping beaucoup d activités nautiques, magnifique vue sur la montagne,
Espace aquatique surveillé en saison, réactivité du personnel après les heures d ouverture. Petit resto bar, on y mange très bien et prix correct. Sanitaires propres. Emplacements correct.

Tyckte om A lovely camp site on the banks of lac Salagou , well worth the drive with lovely landscrapes , nice clean toilets and showers , we had a shady pitch which was a bonus with tempertures of 30c+.
Nice touch fresh bread delivered each morning to reception , but it needs to be ordered the day before , we will be back for sure .

Tyckte inte om Nothing really other than the red dust will get everywhere .

Bring your hiking boots along, because you’ll need them – whether you’re taking the pretty 10-kilometre circular trail around the lake or heading out to places like Causse du Larzac (half an hour’s drive), which has guided hikes as well as easy-to-follow trails. There are lots more trails around the Lodévois and Larzac areas – for family outings or more challenging hikes – so have a chat on site for some tips. Cyclists are equally well catered for, with a fabulous 17 marked trails running through the surrounding Grand Site du Lac du Salagou and the Cirque de Mourèze – ranging from an easy three kilometres to a more hardcore 38 kilometres. For a more gentle day out, take a stroll around the well-preserved medieval town of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert (half an hour’s drive), follow one of the themed trails through the historic streets of Béziers (45 minutes) or head to Montpellier (40 minutes) to explore the museums and dine on local fish dishes like bouillabaisse.
