The list of stunning natural attractions nearby is a long one – whether you bike, hike or kayak, you’ll certainly want to see the Gorges de l’Ardèche (10 minutes’ drive) to start with. After that, perhaps a visit to Sautadet Falls (20 minutes), Grotte Saint-Marcel (20 minutes) or L'Aven d’Orgnac (25 minutes)? The local urban areas are just as lovely, including places like the villages of Aiguèze (10 minutes) and Goudargues (20 minutes) and cities like Uzès (50 minutes) and Avignon (55 minutes), home to the huge medieval Palais des Papes. The three-tiered Roman aqueduct Le Pont du Gard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is about 50 minutes’ drive away. If you need child-friendly days out for a family holiday, try the treetop trails at Accroche Aventure (10 minutes) or meet the snappy residents of La Ferme aux Crocodiles (20 minutes) - it’s home to turtles, snakes, birds and fish as well as the crocs.
