If you're setting off to stay in the Côtes-d’Armor area, it’s fair to guess that you're probably hoping to see the sea… and see the sea you can indeed from Camping Les Hortensias, a simple site backing onto Porz Morvan Bay. This peaceful and scenic stretch of Brittany's Atlantic coast is dotted with excellent bathing beaches, the nearest of which is only a few hundred metres away. Can’t get enough of those coastal views? The ever-popular Côte de Granit Rose (Pink Granite Coast) is a few minutes away by car. Walkers, meanwhile, have direct access to the GR34 trail, and can check out 12 different hiking trails around the Douron Valley to the south, where gorgeous coastal valleys, cliffs and hillsides make for very varied days out. This site's large and well-defined pitches are surrounded by lots of greenery, making Camping Les Hortensias an excellent base for a few days of rural relaxation. Some basic facilities are available here (including accessible toilets and hot showers, a token-powered washing machine and a washing-up area). All the facilities of Plestin-les-Grèves are a five-minute drive away, and you can also walk into town in about half an hour. Handily, there’s a seaside crêperie halfway there should you need to stop and refuel en route, and there are often food trucks in town. Dogs are welcome here, and although Plestin-les-Grèves' beaches are for human guests only, Saint-Michel-en-Grève (10 minutes away) has a stretch of dog-friendly sand that may come in handy.

Tyckte om The setting and views were gorgeous… the hortensias were out in full bloom, the pitches were lovely… it was very quiet and rustic which was perfect for us and if you like a more natural feel… shower block was again old fashioned clean and all that is needed…the owner was absolutely lovely and friendly .. we had a very lovely time.. the coast line here is fabulous … nearest cafe/ creperie 10 minutes away …

Immer heisses Wasser in den Duschen.

Tyckte inte om -Stellplätze mit hohem Gras, nicht zurückgeschnitten.
- Stromboxen am Boden, funktionierten nach Regen nicht mehr.
- Zugänge zu den Anlagen zugewachsen, zum Teil mit Brennnesseln.
-Keine Reinigung der alten Sanitäranlagen.
Kein Hinweis auf ein Geschäft, Resto, Markt ect in der Nähe
-Kein Hinweis wo der GR34 durchführt, wo es zur Bucht geht.
DER CAMPINGPLATZ DER ZWAR EINE FANTSIEVOLLE HOMEPAGE HAT,.ABER AUF DEM KEINE ARBEIT UND UNTERHALT VERRICHTE WIRD. SCHADE!

Från föreståndaren: Bonjour, dommage pour cette expérience.Ce n'est pas parce que nous n'avons pas eu l'occasion de nous croiser que nous ne travaillons pas, tous les jours, nous sommes sur place place et entretenons les emplacements bien-sûr au rythme des saisons la végétation et plus ou moins dense... Les plage et le Gr 34 sont indiqués sur les panneaux de signalisation et les marchés et restaurants indiqués à l'accueil.Pour les autres détails relevés, dommage que vous n'avez pas pris le temps de nous en informer sur place car tout est à présent arrangé grâce au informé des autres campeurs ( éclairage, borne au sol....) Nous mettons un points d'honneur à respecter la tranquillité de nos campeurs mais nous sommes présents chaques jours si besoins et pour l'entretien.

Tyckte inte om Oh dear !! The campsite is well over due a bit of care and attention and looks very shabby.
The photos of neat grass and hedges are far from the truth.
I got stung by overgrown nettles surrounding the electric hook up, there are nettles in various areas meaning you couldn’t walk around bare foot or sandals without dodging nettles.
The hedges and grass are very overgrown, the hedges either side of the path leading to the toilet block are overgrown so you have to walk sideways to walk up the path, if it has been raining you have to brush your clothes up against the wet hedges to get past.
The general appearance of the whole site is very run down which is such a shame as is could be lovely with not a great deal of effort.
The toilets block is very run down with bins adjacent the WC unemptied over the 2 and a half days we were there, my wife refused to use it, thankfully we had our own facilities.
The website states twin-axle vehicles accepted, I doubt this would be possible.
We had booked for 7 nights but left after 2 nights.
I tend not to do reviews but felt driven to comment on this one.

Meer onderhoud en liefde zou mij weer naar deze camping laten komen.

Tyckte om Mooie uitzicht en rust. Geen chalets, gewoon voor echte kampeerders.

Tyckte inte om De camping kan wel wat liefde gebruiken! Zeer verouderd sanitair, een paar deuren zonder sloten, zo jammer. Geeft een vieze indruk, terwijl er wel goed schoongemaakt was. De plek is heel mooi en het hoeft niet luxe te zijn, maar onderhoud doet wonderen voor je verblijf.

Tyckte om The pitch, grass and electric, gorgeous view of the sea, sheltered position but sunny. Quiet campsite. Close to town amenities and ideal base for cycling

Tyckte inte om Shower and toilet block in a poor state of repair. Water barely warm. Very poorly lit at night, lights on very short timers and switches out of reach when they go off. Dangerous sharp broken floor tiles everywhere around the toilet block

We were the only people on site for 1 night as end…

Tyckte om We were the only people on site for 1 night as end of season.So peaceful. Great pitch where we could see the sea. Enjoyed going down to beach in the evening. Facilities old fashioned but clean and worked well. Shower hot.

Tyckte om Le camping est très verdoyant, très nature, très calme, avec des emplacements vue sur mer à couper le souffle.
Les sanitaires ont un délicieux charme rétro mais sont propres.

Très bien situé avec beaucoup de jolis endroits à visiter autour. La région est magnifique et authentique.
Idéal pour des vacances au vert et au calme, nous recommandons 1000 fois!

Lokala sevärdheter

The shoreline is the star around these parts – and there are many gorgeous spots to seek out. Stay close to home for days at places like Plage des Sables Blancs (10 minutes’ drive) or venture a little further for walks around the rocky views of Le Trou du Diable (20 minutes). The pretty pink rocks and lighthouses of Ploumanac’h (40 minutes) and ferry trips to Île de Bréhat (an hour) may be a little further away, but they're worth the trip. There’s history around too: perhaps you’d like to poke around in the megalithic mausoleum Cairn de Barnenez (half an hour) or see a rather more stylish abode in the form of Château de Kerjean (50 minutes). Lannion (20 minutes) has lots of old half-timbered houses to see as you stroll – for the best view, climb the 140 Brélévenez steps to the top of the town. Bring yourselves right back to the here and now with a trip to Karaez Adrénaline (55 minutes) – the adventure park’s treetop courses, zipline and big jump will surely get your heart rate going. Back down at ground level, there’s a great maze for the small ones to explore too.
