You’ll be greeted by fresh sea air and views of Dinas Head and the Preseli Hills at Glasfryn Escapes, a small family-run campsite located above Fishguard Bay in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The site is kept small and natural, with pitches mown out of long meadow grasses, and you can look forward to amazing sunsets on clear nights. The pitches are big enough for families to pitch up together, with the kids, granny and the dog all sitting around the campfire enjoying an alfresco supper after a day at the beach. There’s also space to cosy up under a blanket and under the stars with your love and a glass of wine. This is a simple site but offers a few luxuries to keep you smiling. Modern toilets and showers (one for each pitch, so there’s no sharing) provide a bit of home comfort so you can wash the salt and sand from your hair. Thoughtful amenities also include a hairdryer, washing-up area, fridge/freezer to store your perishables and charging points. Wifi is only available at reception, but best of all, camping guests get a discount on the fare at the on-site Red Onion Garden Café. The welcoming site owners are on hand to make your stay in Pembrokeshire the very best they can; they are happy to share their knowledge of the area with you.

Tyckte om A small well run site, friendly owners, private & dedicated shower/toilet facilities for each pitch, beautiful views over the sea and best of all there was a great cafe/restaurant adjacent to the site where the owners family produced excellent food. We had an evening meal on the first night and lunch the following day. The veg was straight from the kitchen garden. We enjoyed ourselves so much we have booked to stay again in two weeks time and we are having three pitches so we can have a family weekend with our children and grandchildren. Highly Recommended.

Tyckte om The quietness of the pitch and the fact we had an own shower and toilet though compost toilet wouldn’t be my choice but that’s my personal opinion. It was all very clean and tidy.

Tyckte inte om Our pitch was on a slope so by the morning we had slid down as far we could. To be honest we would have preferred a meadow pitch but due to our circumstances needed electricity.

Tyckte om Beautiful view and such a peaceful site really great place to stay to pause from our hectic lives and just relax and enjoy doing nothing. Showers and toilets well thought out and fab to have your own allocated ones

Tyckte om Glasfryn escapes is a lovely peaceful site with stunning views in a great location for exploring. The pitches are a decent size with plenty of room between pitches. We stayed on the top campsite so was able to park next to our pitch. They had great facilities including a private toilet and shower per pitch which we thought was excellent. The utility room had plenty of facilities including fridge-freezer, kettle, microwave and washing up facilities. There were also plugs available for charging devices and spare cooking utensils, games and books to borrow. Would recommend.

Tyckte om Lovely peaceful site, huge pitches, great facilities, very quiet. Pitches are nicely spaced apart and private.

The private toilet per pitch is excellent. We stayed for a week and had our own bathroom with a flushing toilet, lovely and clean, very handy to be able to leave towels etc in there! Shower had great pressure and hot water, plenty of fridge/freezer space and washing up facilities. Plugs available for charging.

Lovely view down to the sea. Cafe was lovely and the owners were friendly and helpful. Five minute drive to Fishguard and close to lots of other towns.

Tyckte om Everything. The views were spectacular, the location was perfect, the cafe served the BEST teas and coffee we have ever had. The owners were extremely helpful and the cost was extremely respectable.

Tyckte om Around 20 Free range chickens wandering peacefully around tents and vans! Site was fairly quiet so we were allocated a bathroom / shower/ toilet with our name on for exclusive use. Nice touch. Lovely views across to Fishguard Harbour and the sea front.
The site was nicely situated in the countryside but is well located with just a short 10-15 minute walk into centre of Fishguard.
We were a little late arriving but site owner Gareth was patiently waiting for us with a warm welcome. We were left to our own devices after that and not disturbed. The small communal cabin is very well stocked and has lots of useful facilities, games, books, and good information boards. All plumbing worked excellently and shower was warm and clean.

Tyckte inte om Only downside for us was the approach road to the campervan sites which is a bit of a building site / assortment of industrial waste material and unfinished projects. For children playing close to this area there might be a dangerous temptation for exploration.
The recycling area could be closer to the sites and we couldn't use the food waste area due to not having any compostable bags with us (maybe provide these?).
Shame that we were unable to access the cafe/shop for the 2 days we were there but we do appreciate that it is October and a little out of season.

Coming from the north: From Aberystwyth follow the A487 to Fishguard. After climbing a steep hill, turn left onto B4313/Hamilton Street. Continue up the hill for a mile. The site is on the right. Coming from the south or east: From Carmerthen, follow the A40 towards Fishguard, passing Haverfordwest and Letterston. In Scleddau, turn right opposite the Gate Inn; the junction is signposted to the Red Onion Garden Café. Follow this road for 1.5 miles and the site is on the left.

Lokala sevärdheter

First stop on any daytime perambulations of the region may be Pembrokeshire Coast National Park (direct access from the site) with stunning beaches, almost-deserted bays and spectacular cliffs. It can be explored in a host of ways: the coast path is accessed in Lower Town Fishguard (20 minutes’ walk), and there’s also a coastal bus route from Fishguard to other towns like New Quay and Aberporth along the coastline. For an up-close-and-personal experience of the Pembrokeshire region, you can try your hand at kayaking, surfing and coasteering (20 minutes’ drive) along the rugged coastline, go pony trekking (15 minutes) in the countryside or go mountain biking in the Preseli Hills (also 15 minutes). The traditional seaside town of Tenby (50 minutes) has two soft sandy beaches, and Newgale (25 minutes) a vast expanse of golden sand. Their lively vibe contrasts neatly with quiet fishing hamlets such as Porthgain (20 minutes) and secret coves along the coast (the owners will tell you all about those when you arrive at Glasfryn).
