Tyckte om We had an enjoyable stay and would say this is a nice, clean and peaceful site in a beautiful location. The pub served a great pint, and it was a really pleasant place to relax and have a drink after a day out.

The facilities were clean, and the showers were lovely and hot. We also thought the free herbs available to pick near the shower facilities were a lovely little touch.

Tyckte inte om Unfortunately, our arrival and overall experience with the site management was disappointing.

When we arrived, there was no one around. I hadn’t checked my emails as I had been driving, so we assumed we could park up and find our pitch. As it was a warm day, we decided to head out for a few hours and returned later.

When we came back, we were greeted by the lady who I believe lives on site in the static caravan. She explained that she had emailed our pitch details. Rather than simply telling us where we needed to be, she asked me to check my emails, and the interaction felt quite rude and unwelcoming.

Once we had set up, we noticed the people next to us putting up a small tent. We were aware that tents weren't normally permitted, but as we were only staying for two nights, we thought a small tent would be more practical for us than putting up our awning. We couldn’t find the lady, but there was a man sitting outside the static caravan, so we asked if this would be possible. He told us quite abruptly that tents weren’t permitted. When we pointed out that the people next to us had one, he laughed and explained that theirs was a pop-up tent and therefore allowed.

A little later, the lady came over and said that we could actually put up a tent, but it had to be a two-person tent instead of the awning. This was confusing, especially as the neighbouring pitch had both an awning and a tent. The whole situation left us feeling that the rules weren't particularly clear or consistently applied.

The site is also very remote, so this is something worth considering when booking. We were staying in a campervan, and if we had put our awning up, we wouldn’t have been able to drive away without taking it down. There isn't really anywhere within easy walking distance for basic amenities, and the pub doesn't open until around 4pm, as far as we were aware.

That said, the site itself is lovely, clean and peaceful, and the location is beautiful. There are some lovely touches, and we enjoyed having the pub on site. The pub served a great pint, the food was lovely and reasonably priced, and the bar staff were friendly and welcoming. We would definitely visit the pub again for a drink and some food.

We would recommend the site to anyone looking for a quiet, remote getaway and who is happy being away from shops and other amenities. For us, however, we had older children with us, and there wasn't really enough on or around the site to keep them occupied, so we probably wouldn't stay on the campsite again.

Our main disappointment was the communication and customer service, along with the confusion around the site rules. We felt these areas could be improved.

Overall, it's a nice, clean site in a beautiful location, but it just wasn't quite the right fit for our family. We would definitely return to the pub, though!

Tyckte om Small quiet site behind the pub. Lovely wide pitches immaculately kept and super facilities. Great location to explore Anglesey. Our third time here.

Tyckte inte om Only 6 pitches at back of pub with owners family looking on. Had to chose between electric or awning as cable not long enough for hook up and ground too hard if parked nearer. Gravel on grass for awning not good on groundsheet. Not near enough to walk or cycle to beach so had to take van. In fact nearby lake overgrown so nowhere near of any interest

I am aware that your power cable was not long enough to reach the hook up point, we do advise on Pitchup.com as well as all other advertising sites that a cable of minimum 15 metres is required, but you obviously missed this. I am also aware that the lady family member that you referred to offered to pop over to where her caravan is stored, to get a cable for you to borrow, but you declined. The pitch layout is designed so that your awning is positioned on the pea gravel area, allowing for easy pegging. as you say, we are in a very rural area and this is generally a big selling point for us; I would not say that the closest beach was an excessive cycle away being 3 miles, but appreciate that walking that distance is not for everyone.

It is frustrating to read that you would not return or recommend, for what seems to be mainly based on your power cable not being long enough, especially when we make this clear in all places possible.

Tyckte om It is a lovely small and quiet site with everything you need for a short stay in a campervan.
The book in the washing room with things to do is a nice touch, we had a good read through it on the evening we arrived.
The showers and washing areas very clean and the pitches are close enough to flat to not worry about.

Tyckte inte om The site has a pub attached so you would think that you could get an evening meal when you stay but, I couldn't as at about 19:00 I was told it was 'fully booked' when I asked for a menu, even though I had just purchased a pint, sat at a table and it was not full? Luckily we had a spare meal in the van for the two of us otherwise I would have had a bigger issue.
A lovely local couple we chatted to said to order an Indian and eat it in the pub garden.
If I had been told we would need to book an evening meal when we checked in the day before I would have done so to make sure I would be okay, sadly this didn't happen. There was only a mention of booking breakfast.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. It's great to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us in general.
As regards to not being able to dine with us, we do highly recommend on all accommodation confirmation emails, our website, and any other online channels that it is possible that reservations are highly recommend to dine, we do not prompt for this on check in also, as it just seems a little pushy. I am unable to comment if the car park stop over was able to dine with us or not, if they were booked in then they would have been. It is a common occurrence over the peak summer period that we do not accept walk in diners, having a seat available is only one part of this, it is also influenced by staffing levels etc, as we would always prefer to serve fewer people to a good standard. As regards to the fact that you would have requested a refund for your drinks if you had not got food in your caravan / camper, we are a Pub / Restaurant and therefore have drinks only customers, and for this reason, if you had ordered drinks before asking for menus, then the team member would of had no reason to advise you that we were not accepting walk in diners and therefore no refund for your drinks would have been given.
