Tyckte om Smithy Park is very easy to access, being a few hundred yards off the main A483. Pitches are large and level and the staff are very helpful and friendly. We had originally planned to stay 1 night before moving further South but electrical problems prevented us moving so we were able to be accommodated for the entire week we were away. Amenities were clean and well kept as were the grounds. The river Severn is right next to the site and the Montgomery canal is the other side of the river and it is possible to walk or cycle the 4 miles into Newtown. Very little disturbance from the main road. The Nags Head pub, 3 miles back from Abermule towards Welshpool was very nice and preferable to the Abermule Inn in the village. The surrounding countryside is also very pleasant. Well recommended, we will certainly visit again when we are down that way again

Tyckte om Smithy park was a lovely place to stay. It was well looked after and the staff very helpful will a little problem we had with our canopy!! Just one thing is a little traffic noice from the main road near by.

Tyckte om Clean & well run site. Hot showers were spacious. Individual cubicles for basins. We had a fully serviced hard standing pitch, the grey waste hose & pot to collect it is provided at the pitch; we thought this was an excellent idea.
Easy access to the Montgomery canal for cycling or walking to pubs in either direction, although we thought towards Welshpool was a nicer day out, with two pubs along the route. The Horseshoes serving excellent food.
Tyckte inte om Wasn’t overly impressed with the view. Riverside location ruined by ghastly fence. Not only did the whole site have this fence (or Heras fence), we were the only pitch on the site with a 12foot tall hedge. This was so ridiculous, we decided it must be the pitch they keep for the English lol. See pics of both sides of our pitch. So no afternoon sun for us! None of the other pitches had this, just the prison fence. We would have asked to move, but site was full when we arrived .
Road was very noisy. Wi-Fi poor. 4G was good enough for streaming.

Little gem of a place!

Tyckte om We really enjoyed our stay here! All the facilities were great, especially the showers—they were spotless and always clean, which really makes a difference. The whole park was super tidy and well looked after. The pitches were a good size, so we had plenty of space to spread out and relax. The location is lovely and peaceful, with easy access to the River Severn—perfect for a nice walk or just taking in the scenery. For the price, it was excellent value. A really relaxing and quiet stay—we’d definitely come back!

Tyckte om Outstandingly well maintained site. Fully serviced pitches exceptionally well organised. Walkway to the canal and the river a delight, part of a lovely small town. Staff pleasant and helpful, toilet facilities ok. Great location for getting to other places. Loved watching the birdlife feeding at the river behind us.
Tyckte inte om You will hear the traffic from the main road a short distance away. We know the area well and expected that - it fades to the background.
