Lägg till din företagsinformationIf you’re headed Killarney way and you appreciate a bit of adults-only peace and quiet, make a beeline for Priory Glamping Pods, just on the outskirts of town in a County Kerry gated community. Active types can get busy exploring Killarney National Park (five minutes’ drive), while there’s plenty of privacy on site if you prefer to put your feet up and chill.
All the pods are tucked into landscaped gardens and shaded by trees. Each is wooden built, comprising a cleverly crafted open-plan living space with a comfy double bed, a kitchen corner with toaster, kettle, Nespresso machine and a microwave, and an ensuite walk-in shower with luscious toiletries provided along with towels and bedding. Off-street parking and unlimited wifi come as part of the package too.
Outside each pod is a lawned seating area with plenty of shade from surrounding trees; just the spot for morning coffee or evening drinks. When supplies need replenishing, it’s 10 minutes’ walk into Killarney town centre, and if you’re staying for a gig, Gleneagle INEC Arena is 15 minutes’ stroll in the opposite direction.

Drive out of Killarney on Muckross Road towards Killarney National Park. About one km from the town centre, the Parkavon Hotel is on the right-hand side. Turn right just before this hotel and follow the road for 50 metres. Automated black gates mark the entrance to Priory Grove on the left.
There are three houses in the compound. Continue to the end of the avenue and park on the gravel outside the last house. Drive carefully as children often play on the avenue.

Spectacular Killarney National Park (five minutes’ drive) landscapes are begging to be explored: you can hire bikes nearby to follow trails around Muckross Lake (20 minutes by bike), walk around the shoreline backed by mountains and take boat tours to Dinish Island or the ancient slate spans of Old Weir Bridge.
The pods are almost on the spectacular Ring of Kerry (five minutes’ drive) route leading around the Iveragh Peninsula (an hour), with highlights including the dramatic cliffs at Kerry and a cruise to the remote Skellig Islands from Portmagee (both about 90 minutes). Closer to home base, you can tour the 19th-century interior of Muckross House (five minutes) and its glorious formal gardens.
For a real taste of remote Kerry, the untamed Dingle Peninsula (an hour) beckons with sandy expanses like Coumeenoole Beach (90 minutes), which has stunning views to the rugged Blasket Islands. Nearby and overlooking Smerwick Harbour (an hour and 25 minutes), the dumpy Gallarus Oratory is one of the best-preserved ancient churches in Kerry, thought to be well over 1,000 years old.
