Lyons Gate Holiday Park

Tyckte om It was nice to be able to stay next to the lake, husband enjoyed the fishing and it was nice to be together while he was doing this. Roy, the Bailiff, was very friendly and informative. It was a very enjoyable, quiet couple of days and we will definitely be back. Hubby found the shop to be well stocked with some good fishing 'stuff'.

Tyckte inte om Toilets were quite a way from our position, not great when desperate for the loo, and we couldnt seem to buy a new gas bottle on site, would only accept a like for like swap which is not much use when forgetting the bottle altogether! Not a huge issue but would have been helpful to be able to offer this service. Staff were great though, tried to help but juts couldn't.

Tyckte om Spent four nights at Lyon Gate, very nice. Roy is a legend very friendly and helpful. Amenities are old fashioned but kept clean and tidy. Lovely safe walks for the dog. Plenty of bins available to dispose of the dog waste.

Tyckte inte om Should of let us know that the showers required 50p to operate before we turned up. Also the speed humps are a bit vicious on the entrance. Didn't like facing away from the lake, as you only had a view of the other caravans.

Tyckte om Lyons gate holiday park is a wonderful, peaceful site that was made even better by the lovely staff,Clare and Roy. They really are an asset to this place.
The site is immaculate,the facilities are great and the peace is sooo peaceful!!
We stayed for 2 nights and wished we had longer there.

Tyckte om The tent pitch was near to the facilities. Toilet and showers clean and well kept. Bonus was they were nice and warm in the cold mornings. I especially loved listening to the owls at night. And buzzards in the day. We camped later in the season, so pretty much had the grassed area to ourselves.

Tyckte om Second visit in 2 months, love the lakes, fishing and the wildlife. Friendly staff and hot clean showers and toilets. Not a spider in sight!

Tyckte om Good site - off the beaten track, 4 fishing lakes, plenty of fish to catch. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I will go back to this site for the fishing, - picking a period when I know it’s likely to be quiet. Not the place if you are looking for a clubhouse or bar or pubs within short walking distance.

Tyckte inte om I’m told that the site gets very busy in peak times, could imagine that it wouldn’t be so nice, for example in school holidays, we deliberately avoided such times and it was very quiet and peaceful.

Tyckte om Beautiful surroundings, everything was clean and tidy. Phil was great, really helpful. We were only there for one night, but would definitely go back.

Tyckte inte om Bit of a faff having to pay for showers, but if you're quick, they're fine.

Tyckte om Arrived on site to a warm welcome by Phil & Mandy at reception, who we found to be a very polite & friendly couple who explained everything to us ie - drinking water, grey water disposal, fishing rules etc… After booking in, Phil showed us to our pitch. Pitches were level & easy to position our caravan. These are good sizes & plenty of room for an awning & a car. We thoroughly enjoyed walking our dog 🐕‍🦺🐾through the woodland walk. There’s a long & a short route. I found these walks easily accessible on my mobile scooter. The shower blocks & toilets are always kept very clean & tidy. During our stay here, we have been lucky enough to enjoy the clear night sky & being overwhelmed at how many stars we could see. ⭐️🌟✨Beautiful. The four fishing lakes are extremely well kept & the fish 🐟are in amazing condition & are the best we’ve ever caught 🎣. A massive thanks 👏to Roy the Bailiff for doing such a great job & for being so helpful, as nothing was too much trouble for him. The grounds are beautifully kept 🌻🌸🌼🌺🌷 & the site is very quiet. We will be returning very soon.

Tyckte om Super friendly hosts, lovely flat pitches, great forest walk, lakes are beautiful and everyone is so friendly. The fishing is fantastic the kids were bringing up fish every 20 seconds!

Tyckte inte om Entrance road is through the camping section, not ideal with small children but can’t be helped.
