So where to start? There are some big-hitting Cornish attractions close by, so maybe head to the Eden Project (half an hour’s drive) for a day of trekking through artificial rainforest in the biodomes? Or perhaps running around on treetop rope courses will tire everybody out – if you fancy the sound of that, Adrenalin Quarry (25 minutes) is the place for you. For all those animal lovers among you, there are meerkats and lemurs to feed at Porfell Wildlife Park and Sanctuary (10 minutes), or you can all learn about the care of endangered monkeys in the primate enclosures at Wild Futures, The Monkey Sanctuary (20 minutes). When time at the seaside is requested, head for the rock pools at cliff-backed Talland Bay (10 minutes’ drive), or get everyone building sand castles on Polperro’s pocket-sized beach (10 minutes). Feeling more energetic? Hike the section of the South West Coast Path from Lekerock Cove Beach (also 10 minutes) back to East Looe beach (an hour and a half’s walk) and put your feet up in a seaside café to refuel with a glass of Cornish cider.
