Heading to the Kent countryside in a quest for a rural retreat near to steam railways, castle ruins and vineyards? As well as assorted farm animals on site, there are eight acres of farmland at Setts Wood Camping and Glamping, including a fishing lake (charges apply) and a wooded area for classic games of hide and seek. Down a private lane and well away from the road, there is certainly plenty of unwinding to be done at this quiet site. Don't worry about being too far removed though, as it's still within reach of several historic towns including Hastings (a 45-minute drive away), and has several sandy beaches within half an hour’s drive. The local town of Tenterden is five minutes’ drive away for a convenient collection of breweries, restaurants and supermarkets where you can pick up supplies for a picnic or a barbecue back at the farm. You can also buy fresh free-range eggs on site every morning, in a splendid selection of different colours. Store any leftovers in the communal fridge and make use of the other kitchen facilities such as a kettle and sink. Other handy facilities include toilets and a shower block, for washing off any grains of sand accumulated from the beaches at Camber Sands and Dymchurch, both within half an hour’s drive.

Tyckte om Spacious site with sheep and llamas grazing peacefully. Liked the no noise rule after 10p.m. as this was a busy summer weekend and there were lots of campers. Liked that could pitch camp wherever we wanted. Great location within easy reach of sandy beaches and places of interest.

Tyckte inte om Just one shower for a large group of campers seemed insufficient although in in fact we didn't need to queue for long. The toilet near our pitch was dirty.

Tyckte om Loved the open space and the fishing lake. Beautiful little camp site, with great facilities, and friendly dog who gives lots of attension and love.

Tyckte inte om the sheep waking me up at 4/5am but this cannot be helped.
One recommendation would be better quilts in the bell tent and softer matress.

Tyckte inte om Loud large family group who not only ran round chasing the sheep, being generally noisy they also drove to the toilets!

I loved the sheep but there was soo much poo it was hard to dodge.

Only 2 ladies toilets which I saw men coming out of.

Tyckte om A peaceful, safe and secure site. Toilets and shower are so clean. Owners are lovely too. Added bonus of sheep and Alpacas roaming around the tents. First time camping with our autistic boys. Definitely will be going back.

Tyckte om First time staying here, for just one night. However we were left wishing we'd booked a few nights. Lovely peaceful location, added bonus of sheep and alpacas roaming freely around the site.
Four of us stayed with our children aged 5 and 1 yrs, who both loved it. The small fishing pond is a nice feature, while we had no luck, we saw others catching nice carp.

Facilities were good, the communal kitchen trailer was useful. I managed to forget the spare gas canisters for the stove, so the microwave and kettles in the kitchen were a life saver. Saw plenty of campers making use of the communal fridges also.

We are hoping to stay again soon for at least 2 nights .
