Campfires, birdsong and spectacular scenery… At Free Range Glamping, on Bore Place organic farm 15 minutes from Edenbridge in Kent, you get all these good bits of camping along with a few home comforts – like a cosy, solid bed. Free Range Glamping is in a haven for walkers: three waymarked trails cross the fields and woodlands of the 500-acre Bore Place farm. Alternatively, pick up a map from reception and follow one of the walks that explore further into the Kent countryside. If you prefer to switch off at home base, the site is on the edge of a peaceful woodland and there’s loads of space around you to give you a sense of seclusion. Wander through the woods or relax beside your private firepit and listen to the birds chirping in the trees. There’s no need to arrive laden down with supplies: each unit has a kitchen, linens, towels and a woodburning stove – everything and the kitchen sink is looked after. You can stock up on grub and essential supplies in Edenbridge – if you fancy a night off from cooking, there are plenty of restaurants within 20 minutes of the site.

Tyckte om Check in process was easy and Tom/Rue were in touch to help us on the day. Lovely facilities at base and although the hut was well distanced from other camps, there was a friendly community buzz at base.
The short signposted walks from the site were gorgeous.

Tyckte om We liked the surrounding off the hut, very nice and quiet.
It's located nearby several National Trust Houses and Gardens.

Tyckte inte om We've missed a normal electric socket to cool our coolbox of a freezer in the base camp to freeze our cookpacks.
The sanitary down hill could be cleaner...

Tyckte om There are so many things to love about this site set in the beautiful Kent countryside on an organic farming estate. The huts and tents are well spaced in a beautiful meadow with gorgeous sun downer views. The campsite is super well equipped with communal fridges, proper showers, trolleys to get your stuff to the car free Glamping site. We loved the outdoor shower with warm water and our fire pit. Chris was super welcoming and kind and called by to make sure we had everything we needed when we checked in.

Tyckte inte om I hadn’t realised when I booked that the site is co-located with a wedding venue. This meant really loud music on the Saturday night. So much so we packed up and went home a night early. I would check if there is a wedding booked before planning to stay on a Saturday again.

The area around Free Range Glamping is a top spot for a slow-paced family getaway: wend your way through the enchanted forest at Groombridge Place, get up close with the animals at the Ashdown Llama Park, or chug along the Spa Valley Railway in a steam train from Tunbridge Wells to Eridge, all within 30 minutes’ drive of the site. Experience statelier times with visits to Penshurst Place, Chiddingston Castle, Ightham Mote and Hever Castle, all less than 20 minutes away, and ramble around the grounds at Riverhill Himalayan Gardens and Emmetts Garden. Chartwell, the family home of Sir Winston Churchill, is 15 minutes from Free Range Glamping – explore the rooms that have been left almost exactly as they were when he lived here, wander the stunning gardens, and follow the trails that crisscross the woodland. If all this pastoral splendour is leaving you craving the urban life, never fear: the museums, galleries, shops, restaurants and attractions of London are less than an hour away by train, and the towns of Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells are both within 30 minutes of the site. Tunbridge Wells is a must: pay a visit to the Pantiles – a Georgian colonnade of cafés and shops – to burn a hole in your credit card, take the waters at the Chalybeate Spring, then sit down for a meal in one of the town’s top-notch restaurants.
