Tyckte om: Lovely surroundings for the camping field and the barn was very rustic which was nice. Staff in the barn were polite but a little bit disorganised. Great to hear the noises from howletts zoo in the morning as well, made it feel a bit more like a safari!

Tyckte inte om: Got there and gent I spoke to wasn’t a fan of pitchup which immediately didn’t fill me with confidence. Was given slightly vague direction to where I needed to go rather than being shown, I guess he was understaffed which I can understand. Was told I could unload my belongings onto a wheel barrow to trudge to the other end of the field (we were the only campers in it), but when we got there the wheelbarrow wasn’t there. Unpacked our belongings and setup the tent and then had a Quick Look in the camp kitchen, which wasn’t particularly clean and the bins were full. Tried to use the toilet but they and the showers were locked so had to go all the way back to reception to ask for them to be opened. Staff member kindly organised the wheel barrow and someone to clean the kitchen and empty the bins. Went to use the shower but the one they had unlocked had no water supply so had to ask the boy emptying the bins if he could sort it out, which received a bit of a sarcastic response which I wasn’t best pleased about. It seems to me the place is catered more for the upper middle class with money for the “glamping” rather than the rest of us bringing our own tents and being left to fend for ourselves. Maybe they need to just plain focus on the glamping or make an actual effort for the standard camping as well rather than it being half assed and pushed to the side?!

Tyckte om: Location is fantastic, food and drinks from the barn are great.

Tyckte inte om: The beds need some attention!! Other glamping set ups have much better beds, this wasn’t much better than pitching your own tent and sleeping on a very thin camping mattress. It was a shame as all the bedding was lovely. Our friends have since stayed and said the exact same thing.

Tyckte om: Location, facilities were clean, kindness of staff, woodfire pizza, breakfast.

Tyckte inte om: The tent fabric had lot of mould which I believe is not nice to breathe, we had a baby with us and we weren’t happy about it. The bell tents are lovely and comfortable but they should be cleaned from the mould

Tyckte om: Beautiful setting. So nice being set away from the Barn, yet a short walk away to get drinks and Pizza. Great walked around the area, including past the zoo (where we could see elephants).

Tyckte om: Great spot for access to the kent countryside, canterbury and short drive to the sea. Bonus is that the barn building often has cider festivals, which are great for adults and kids alike.

Tyckte inte om: A few more portaloos wouldnt do any harm. not much cell signal/ Wifi.

Tyckte om: Clean modest facilities, great cider and pizza, staff friendly, jazz festival great fun, remote but near to a train station, everything you need to stay simple.

Tyckte inte om: Priority showers for bell tent renters. Washing up area in field out of service, not sure why.

Tyckte om: Nice quiet setting, friendly staff, lovely pub with local drinks on site

Tyckte inte om: Only a portaloo (and some cold water sinks) for facilities on the camping field and have to walk across a little footbridge into another field to get to in the dark. Have to park a fair distance away to take your stuff to the pitch, they do provide wheelbarrows but still a bit of a pain.

Tyckte om: Lovley atmosphere, great meal.

Tyckte inte om: We stayed in a Bell tent, with my 2 children aged 6 &8, and was disappointed to realise although we were provided with bedding, the children were not, and they ended up only having a mat to sleep on with a blanket. For the £140 per night cost we did not feel this was good value, and irmt was not explicit that bedding was NOT included. Facilities were adequate, but no milk was provided for teas and coffee.

Tyckte om: The location and the staff. The barn was open from early to late with excellent food and drink.

Tyckte inte om: The facilities (showers, charging station) were primarily for the use of clamping pitches so we were lucky it was quiet when we started or we probably wouldn’t have been able to use them.
