Tyckte inte om Roads in area are not for wide cars. Imagine narrow rural/country road with 8ft hedges on both sides.

Från föreståndaren: Thank you for your review. You are right, the road approaching the campsite is very narrow, we suggest taking your time, checking for approaching cars and using the passing places,but on the plus side, its only a short stretch & we hope its worth it when you see the site itself.
Glad you enjoyed Charlies visit, its out of bounds for her really, but the pull of sausages & burgers on the BBQ means she does visit now & again, followed quickly by Josh to gather her up and take her back home.
Thank you for visiting, the weather was perfect for you on Friday, thanks goodness the weather was not as bad as the forecast, the fell behind seems to provide some protection and off course some fabulous views.

Tyckte om De eigenaresse is aardig en behulpzaam. De camping is mooi gelegen langs een riviertje. Iedere plek heeft eigen douche en eco-toilet. Gelukkig waren er ook gewone wc’s. Het is een zeer ruime locatie, vooral ook omdat er nauwelijks kampeerders waren.

Tyckte inte om We hadden vanwege de hoge prijs iets anders verwacht. Bijv electriciteit of andere faciliteiten. De advertentie gaf een andere indruk aan ons (zonder dat er onwaarheden in stonden overigens) dan wat we aantroffen. Was in begin wel teleurstelling. De rust en de hartelijkheid van de eigenaresse maakte veel goed.
De tent was prima, al was het meubilair en het bed krakkemikkig en waren de batterijen van de verlichting niet meer werkzaam.

Från föreståndaren: I have struggled fully translating this text, I can see you loved the setting, the peace & quiet and the stream.

I am sorry it seemed you expected electricity, in particular to do you washing, I cannot see this in our advertising, so I am sorry you felt misled. The lights in the bell tent will be working for our next guests, the batteries usually last well, but like anything it depends on the amount of use.

We do work hard to ensure all our guests enjoy their stay with us, the weather wasn't on your side, with torrential rain on one evening, maybe with glorious sunshine the view of our site may have been different.

Tyckte om Amazing customer service from the lady who runs it. She drove us down to our pitch with all our gear and back up when we were leaving. She provided ice packs and insect repellent to borrow FOC. toilets were clean and tidy, showers were warm and had soap provided incase you had forgotten your own. Sink area was great, also had a few sponges and soap incase you forgot your own. Bins are all separated for max recycling. The river that runs on the outside of the campsite is lovely. There is a pub about 15 min walk away, we didn’t go to this but it did look nice. Windermere is only 30 mins away for a prefect day out.

Tyckte om Hammocks, hot shower, helpfulness and friendliness of the hosts. Clean toilets. Lovely views, even if it was rainy. Peaceful.

Tyckte inte om Composting toilet turned out to be very close to a bucket on the floor, but there were flushing toilets so near that this was no issue really.

River was very high due to heavy rain making us wary to leave kids unattended even for a moment.

It was such a shame we had a lot of rain before & during your visit otherwise I'm sure the Beck would have been great fun for the children. We do find now we have flushing toilets installed, our customers choose to use them, rather than the composting option. We do always clean all toilets, both composting & flushing at least twice a day, so its reassuring to know they were always clean.

Easy to find, and easy to get too. Beautiful and clean and environmentally friendly.
Children loved the hammocks, rope swing, and the stream. They were also fascinated with the compost able toliets.

Tyckte om Such a beautiful spot and lovely, lovely hosts. Were were newbie campers and although we arrived a bit late, and it was rainy and windy when we arrived, the hosts helped us to get started with pitching our tent which we were so grateful for and it was such a kind gesture. The location is beautiful and with two young boys, it was lovely to see them just messing about in the stream and playing with new friends on the hammocks available. We would not hesitate to come back and I would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful quiet spot where the kids can play safely. Thank you!

Tyckte om We stayed in a bell tent for 2 nights. It was lovely to have proper beds, with sheets and towels provided. There was also lights, crockery, kettle, stove, fire pit inside and outside seats and table.

Lovely peaceful site with great views. The children (6 & 8yrs) loved playing in the stream, watching the sheep and cows, as well as sitting in the hammocks.

Plenty of toilets and showers with hot water. Maintained twice a day by the lovely couple that own the site.

Tyckte inte om Make sure you follow the instructions to get there, we didn't and came down a very narrow, long road, which was a bit daunting.

Tyckte om The site was lovely and quiet and the location was perfect by the beck.

Shirley and her husband were so helpful both before and during our visit - they were also really friendly.

The facilities were nice and clean and were regularly checked over. Flushing toilets and showers and washing up facilities - all you need really.

It was a great base to explore the lakes too as well as Kirby Lonsdale nearby. Fab ice cream shop and brewery there!

Tyckte inte om Only a minor niggle and I worked around it with a towel on the back of the door, but you could see into the showers from the outside which I didn’t love. I think a little adjustment to the doors to cover the gaps and it would be perfect.

Tyckte om Great stay, the campsite is lovely. Beautiful views. The shallow stream was a hit with my 2 kids they spent lots of time there playing. Our pitch was by the stream with private facilities (gas shower and compost toilet which was surprisingly fine once you get used to it!) there are flushing toilets too which you can use. There is lots of space, pitches are big and not crammed in, hired a fire pit which included a huge bag of wood.

owner was very helpful and brought our equipment down to the field, the hill down to pitches is quite steep from the car park.
