Tyckte inte om Énorme distance pour accéder aux wc, alors que nous sommes 3 campeurs sur le site, j'ignore pourquoi on m'a placée si loin, il faut traverser un champ immense en friche avec bouses de vache... Wc chimiques malodorantes. Chauffe eau à gaz défaillant, explosif et dangereux. Eau de l'évier qui coule directement dans le sol.

Från föreståndaren: Le principe des emplacements libres est que vous êtes autonome, mais deux toilettes sèches très propres sont à votre disposition pour votre confort, nettoyées quotidiennement (voir les informations sur le site). Vous disposez de beaucoup d'espace pour vous étendre et le terrain n'est pas en jachère ; c'est une prairie herbacée fraîche, mais malheureusement, avec la sécheresse que nous avons connue, elle a du mal à se rétablir. Le bétail est là, mais pas depuis quelques mois. Les douches sont chaudes et l'eau qui coule dans l'ancien abreuvoir est fraîche et sert à boire et à se laver. Je suis désolé que vous n'ayez pas passé un meilleur séjour.

Tyckte om Self check-in option is excellent as we are always late, but we also appreciated a lovely warm welcome. Our stay was absolutely wonderful - it was so nice to have a good distance between the eco pitches as we are usually worried about the kids being a bit noisy first thing in the morning. The site was peaceful and beautiful. Facilities were exactly what we needed - ability to buy necessities on site, hot showers, convenient toilet, fire pit and a picnic table. We will definitely be back!

Tyckte om loved the empty space, massive field , big distances between tent pitches, hammocks by the river, rope swings over the water would be excellent for kids.

Pitch space. I had the eco spot and it was lovely, right by the stream which you can swim in.
It’s a basic camping site with the necessary things provided so if you’re looking for a top of the range site this isn’t it.
Yes had to empty and clean the toilet myself but everything is provided including gloves so no big deal. It’s very clear you have to do this so anyone who complains then that’s your issue but you can pay for it to be emptied if you wish.
Owner was lovely and extremely helpful. Lives the dogs she had so I was always giving them fuss.
There’s no WiFi that I knew of but you get reception there so no
Problem there hence the one star for WiFi

If you don’t like direct sunlight then upgrade for a few more pounds to the eco pitches as they have shade.

Tyckte om Fantastic place, beautifully set and well thought out. The reception area was great and had everything you needed and it was accessible at all times. The self serve concept was inspired and not something I've come across before.

Tyckte inte om Showers ran cold only, the portaloos were chemical ones and they smelt very bad. Compost loos would be so much better in this setting

We have only just put the freedom spots in place (the eco-pitches are all serviced by compost loos) so we will definitely think about those for the future. The chemical loos usually get emptied once a week and are for the freedom spots only but it appears there was a breakdown. with the cleaning vehicle. The loos are cleaned daily by us and don't normally smell. The showers are all gas but one gas bottle had run out after the busy weekend as had the battery. Sorry, I should have got down earlier to check these before you left. All the showers are working and running hot now. Please come again.

Tyckte inte om most if not all pitches are in full sun until pretty much sunset - something to consider if camping on hot days.

Från föreståndaren: Thank you for your review. We were pleased we were able to pitch you on our most shady spot that night as an upgrade and that you also found the shade of the island and the river. The freedom pitches are in the sun with full access to the shade and the river on hot days but the eco pitches have plenty of shade so something to consider when making your booking.

Tyckte om We made a fairly last minute decision to camp for one night rather than going straight home to Oxford (only 20 mins from the camping). D'Oyleys looked the best bet online, with its spaciousness, tranquility, river, good walks etc plus somewhat quirky individual touches; not your standard camping/caravaning site. In actuality it was all this and more. We came on a very hot day and Fi intercepted us and directed us to an eco-pitch rather than the freedom field, in order to get good shade. This was so welcoming and generous and the pitch was absolutely gorgeous, as was the communal hammocks, swimming and BBQ shack area and other immediate surroundings (eg the deep pool on the Cuddesdon path). The pre-sunrise sky colours, with low mist in the field, were so beautiful that my partner stayed awake pretty much all night.

Tyckte om Peace and quiet. Location for exploring. Being able to swim in the river on a hot day was amazing.
