Switch between the pedestrianised alleys of the ‘city of dreaming spires’ and the mellow hills and countryside tea rooms of the Cotswolds… all on the same day if you wish. Set your base in Greenhill Leisure Park, a family-run farm site surrounded by the Oxfordshire countryside in Bletchingdon, within 25 minutes' drive of Oxford and an hour from the Cotswolds National Landscape. There are certainly no shortages of countryside pursuits on hand, with four fishing lakes on site stocked with carp or coarse fish and a nice selection of countryside rambles or woodland walks from the site. Where to start, with 270 acres to explore on this farm site? You could while away the afternoon with a riverside picnic while watching the canal boats glide by or head to the carp fishing lake for a test of strength… the biggest fish weigh up to a hefty 30lbs. Beat any bouts of the tummy grumbles with the on-site shop. Other facilities include a toilet block, launderette and washing-up facilities. There’s a dedicated grassy area for dogs to stretch their legs, if you’ve brought a canine friend along for the ride too.

Tyckte om Big site with things to do. Spacious showers and toilet cubicles great when you have a toddler. Pitches spacious and lovely and quiet.

Tyckte om Reasonable location for visiting Oxford though a bit of an uphill trek to the bus in the village. Pity bus service stops so early though. Pleasant and helpful staff.

Tyckte inte om Couldn't get WiFi and toilets pretty dirty. Appreciate this is the users not owners but still unpleasant. Pity cafe closed but not an issue for us.

Best showers of our whole touring trip.

Tyckte om We like everything about Greenhill Park. We initially stay here as a halfway point but will definitely be back for a full holiday. The shop was very reasonably priced and stocked everything you need. It also stocked fishing equipment for the 4 lakes it has and also the river and this was also well priced. The shower facilities were clean and spacious with consistent hot water. Brilliant for dog owners as plenty of walking areas for on and off the lead. Good location for Diddly Squat farm and Oxford

Tyckte om Great campsite in beautiful countryside. We liked that there was so much space there. We were not on holiday with children, but could see there was so much room for children to run around and play and a whole field set aside for dogs to run around. Site has access to river which was great for husband to kayak on and nice for Riverside walks. Toilets clean and hot water always available. Easy to get to Oxford and Blenheim Palace.

Tyckte om We had a warm welcome at reception and were shown to our camping pitch which was in a lovely big field.
Our request to be put next to our friends was honoured and we had a perfect almost private corner.
Beautiful views, great facilities, absolutely no complaints about the whole weekend.

Tyckte om For our first camping trip with two young children it was excellent! The site is brilliant, the staff are very friendly and will help in anyway they can if you need anything. The pitches are very spacious with toilet/shower blocks very near by. The park is very clean and tidy. There is plenty to do locally in the area and we will definitely be back again next year.

Woodland walking is on the cards at Island Pond Wood (20 minutes' drive). Don’t worry, you won’t find a crocodile here… but you may spot more than one or two at Crocodiles of the World (25 minutes). Keep your eyes peeled for more wildlife, including red kites and Duke of Burgundy butterflies, in the ancient woodlands and valleys of Chiltern Hills (45 minutes). Next, go where the fashionable people used to congregate, at the historic house and gardens of Blenheim Palace (five minutes) or Waddesdon Manor (35 minutes). At Bicester Heritage (15 minutes), you can delve into a different history, this time of motoring. Or look into the city of Oxford (25 minutes), where grand libraries and cathedrals stand tall. The same Jurassic limestone that forms the hilly walking district of the Cotswolds (an hour) is on show at the ancient stone circle of the Rollright Stones (25 minutes), another old site to add to the trip’s must-visit list.
