The Racecourse Retreat

Tyckte om Lovely large site with stunning views. Very friendly and helpful family running it. Showers and toilets cleaned regularly throughout day and very good for pop up site.
Large dog exercise area also provided.
A real jem of a site.
Pleasant footpath walk down into Wirksworth itself.

We are really pleased you enjoyed your stay with us.
The dog exercise area is new for this year and it certainly seems to be a hit with out 4 legged visitors.
The walk down to Wirksworth is lovely isn't it, a stones throw from the site and lots of lovely little places to visit when you reach the bottom of the footpath.

Tyckte inte om Could do with a couple more toilets and possibly another shower. Water pressure was a bit iffy on the second day.

Tyckte om There was a bar with a marquee tent to sit in, and they serve food on Friday and Saturday nights. The toilets were lovely and modern and clean in a little wooden shack. Plenty of space, we went when it was fully booked and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. There was a lovely view and it helped we had good weather.

Tyckte inte om Wish there was more toilets, there was only 4 cubicles, so in the morning there was a queue.

Having plenty of space is something we have in abundance!
We are sorry you found a que in the mornings, we have 4 cubicles with toilets, 3 showers rooms with toilets and 4 men's urinals in a separate block around the back so hopefully the ques didn't last for long.

Having toilets around the site is certainly something we are hoping to have in the future and we are constantly developing.

Tyckte om The whole set up, from the moment we arrived booked in by the owners, the bar area , the Caribbean food, local ciders,the toilets and showers all excellent, we will be back .

No problem for the sugar.......sugar is definitely a MUST for a morning brew.

Tyckte om Everything!!!! Bar and all his staff were friendly and so helpful. Plenty of safe space for kids to play including the huge sandpit i never heard the words "im bored" from my boys. Bar and pop up food stalls were brilliant and reasonable prices. Showers were hot and very clean same goes for the toilets. Views were amazing we will definitely be back!!

The sandpit it a great hit with the children (adults have been know to be up to their knees in it which is a great sight!)
The views from the campsite can't be beaten so really pleased you enjoyed these while you were with us.

Tyckte om Absolutely lovely stunning scenery. Just rolls and rolls of green hills. Massive site for plenty of pitches. Plenty to do in the area. The on site sand pit and bar were a welcomed highlight

Although more toilets and showers are probably needed for busier times

The rolls and rolls of green hill are something to admire for sure, its such a lovely view from the site.
The roads to the site are narrow in places but its definitely worth it when you reach us as you agree.

Tyckte om Beautiful site, clean and looked after. The facilities were always clean and fully stocked. The views are amazing. The owners were so kind and helpful when my friends van battery needed a jump start. Absolutely brilliant, and can’t wait to come back next year

Tyckte om What an amazing site!!! Such an amazing location with great views and so clean! The toilets, showers and washing up area are always kept very clean. The most amazing, lovely & helpful owners!! We have been a couple of times now and look forward to staying again!

Tyckte om The cleanliness of the site.
Welcoming staff.
Great shower and toilet facilities.
Music off at 10 meaning the campsite was a lot quieter for those who wanted to sleep.
