A £2 billion entertainment complex is in the pipeline for Kent, in what has been called ‘Britain’s next major regeneration opportunity’ post-Olympics.
The venue for the ‘world class’ entertainment hub was revealed this week by a consortium of UK and international companies, and will create up to 27,000 jobs. It will be based next to the Ebbsfleet International rail station, meaning that visitors could reach it in 17 minutes from St Pancras station in central London.
Paramount Licensing Inc, the licensing division for Paramount Pictures, has signed an agreement with London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH) to give exclusive licensing for a Paramount entertainment resort on the site, which will also feature theatres, live music venues, cinemas, restaurants and Rurope’s biggest indoor water park.
Tony Sefton, LRCH project leader, said: ‘Post Olympics, this is Britain’s next major regeneration opportunity.
‘Our timetable for delivery, including the planning application process and construction timetable, is geared towards completion and opening in 2018.’
