Harlyn Sands Holiday Park

Понравилось The location being close to Harlyn Bay but that's as far as it goes.

Не понравилось 1. Noise - The welcome pack stipulates no noise before 8am and after 10pm. Yet the staff drive around in noisy 4 x 4 from 5am. The club also stays open until 12pm and it is unbearably loud.
2. Clientele/Service - We were unfortunate enough to try food at the on site diner which was terrible. There was a football match being played with supporters amongst children swearing. I brought this to the attention of the security guard often found hunched over a fry up and rather than assist he advised that there was other locations my children could sit, notwithstanding they couldn't as they were eating. Not to mention you would expect a security guard to address those shouting profanities at the TV screen.
3. The arcade machines were in a large part broken or swallowing money without allowing my children to play. Many machines advise of a £1 payment per go when in fact they are just 50 pence such as the punchbag which is very dishonest. Aligned was the fact my son one a major prize on a tetris style game. An error code was presented and we once gain raised this with staff. A young member of staff turned the socket on and off. The machine still displaying an error code. He then advised the manager would resolved. Having waited 30minutes for the manager I went to the bar to find him kissing a guest plainly over the bat 3 times. When I finally managed to capture his attention he said that he wouldn't take my sons' word for the win and would instead review CCTV to corroborate but would do so the following day. I asked to leave my details so he could contact us and he refused. Alas, we havent heard back.
4. Avoid this place like the plaugue. There are plenty of alternative locations.

Понравилось Fantastic location and spacious pitches . Good shop and fish and chips .

Понравилось The clubhouse and park area. Kids all loved the park and lots of outside seating for you to sit out and have a drink while they play.

Не понравилось Park in general very busy. Pitches very close together, roads very narrow. Queuing for showers and having to pay to use the pool.
Toilets and showers very dated, only one block for the whole site, this is why there are queues for the showers. Often no hand soap in the toilet area.
Roads into the campsite also a nightmare, very tight lanes especially if towing.

Понравилось Close to very lovely, easily accessible beaches, level pitches and friendly staff.

Не понравилось The toilet and shower facilities were inadequate for the size of the site, with most pitches located a considerable distance from them. Our particular pitch was a good 10 minute walk to and from the toilet, which in the daytime is fine, not so much in the middle of the night.

Basic amenities were poorly maintained, often no toilet roll or hand soap , showers had long queues with an unpleasant sewage smell. Additionally, the showers had very little pressure.

Waste management was awful, there is no chance of recycling as every bin is completely full with rubbish bags piled up and spilling all over.

Lovely position but considering the high prices charged, the overall experience felt a bit disappointing and far from good value for money.

Понравилось Close proximity to the beach.
Some friendly staff offering a good start to our stay.

Не понравилось Inadequate toilet and shower facilities. Toilets a long way off from most of the camping pitches.
Someone on our pitch when we arrived which was sorted quickly but should not have ever happened.
Often no toilet roll or soap for hand washing. Queues for showering and a smell of sewage.
Rows and rows of campers with no landscaping.
Inaccurate advice about what food would be served. Told all food on menu available early in the day on Sunday, but actually no pizza in the evening due to Sunday roast being cooked.
Excessive rubbish overflowing at the bins which again are a very long way from pitches, encouraging people to drive o reach facilities.
Very expensive!

The camping field near the beach looked lovely.

The main entertainment lady for the kids was amazing! - very friendly, very approachable. (I’m sorry I’ve forgotten her name).

Не понравилось Toilets were filthy - never cleaned - there was a poop stain on the same toilet for 4 days! And there was never any soap in dispensers or toilet roll / despite a staff cleaning sheet that was signed every 2 hours.

Showers were horrendous! Only 8 or 10 can’t remember exact number for the whole site and they are communal (not an issue for me but thought I’d mention)

The changing rooms for the pool were awful! - it stunk of stale wee! - there were no toilets in these, you can to walk back through the pool to the other side.
- there were no hooks in the changing rooms for the pool or the showers, so no where to put your clothes when changing, because obviously the floor wasn’t an option even for your bags as there was people obviously urinating on the floors.

There are two pools one for the non swimmers and a larger one for the others, the non swimmers pool was clearly for babies and toddlers and children who weren’t strong swimmers. - the amount of teenagers that used the wall separating them for beach balls games and bombing into it was ridiculous, it wasn’t monitored and the staff clearly didn’t care about the babies or toddlers that were constantly getting splashed at or pushed out the way - considering this was the only pool for the non swimmers you would think there would be some sort of policing involved. - I’m not normally one to moan about this but we had a 1 year old and a 4 year old and we only stayed in the pool for 30 mins because of this. (I asked the older kids nicely, so many times to please be careful of our toddlers and were ignored or sweared at. - there was only one life gaurd that I could see and one person by the slide on the other side of the pool.

There were only 4 mirrors above 4 sinks in the women’s toilets - NONE in the shower block.

There were staff smoking right at the entrance, and so many of them were just walking around in groups just chatting.

The family pitches by the caravans are so tightly squeezed together that people were unable to park their cars by the tents, we didn’t even open the windows to our tent because as soon as you did the caravan opposite can see straight through!

There were so many people letting their dogs off the leads and letting them poop wherever they wanted without a care in the world, the majority of these people were set up in the permanent spots, and again no one around monitoring this.

Понравилось The pitch was a good size, park was nice

Не понравилось Very run down/tired site, not the cleanest either. Pool was cold and the surrounding was carpet, not very nice to walk on. The site a daily itinerary sheet out with activities but the activities were not carried out. Staff didn’t seem to know much when asked. Not the most enthusiastic. Expensive pitches and had to pay on top for showers.

Понравилось The location is amazing, very close to a dog friendly beach. Staff friendly and helpful, shop sufficient for needs.

Не понравилось The whole camp needs to be updated, it looks tired and needs to be tidied up. The existing facilities are poor with insufficient showers. Although there is a time limit of 4 minutes when using the shower (& a charge) which is obviously designed to speed people up, it doesn't take away from the fact that there are an insufficient number in relation to the number of people on the site.
Although there is nothing the camp can do about this, be warned the road into the camp is narrow in places and gets very busy/clogged up making it difficult to bring a caravan in/out.
Wifi needs to be improved as well as the area's signal is poor.
